Don’t really know a lot about your company, but I’ve seen your trucks about and you seem to have a tidy fleet and I get the impression that you don’t have to advertise for drivers.
But would you really turn down a good driver just because he’s Polish?

Most don’t have a problem with eastern Europeans as people. But it’s undeniable that wages have been kept low since their arrival hence the disgruntlement.It all started way before that when the 2 Germany´s were united and there was an enormous influx of East Germans in to Holland, Belgium and France as well as Western Germany and lo and behold that is where they all got the idea from of allowing Eastern Europeans to follow on after seeing how the influx of ex commies from the East of Germany stagnated wages through just about half of Europe
Got to pretty much agree, before the East European countries joined the EU, I knew haulage companies that had trucks standing and I had agencies phoning me everyday offering me work even though I kept making it clear I wasn’t interested.
I think this will happen again and yet again those who run businesses and the politicians who pockets they line will look for another source of cheap Labour. I’m pretty sure Turkey won’t be joining the EU any time soon, but I can see changes to allow Turkish workers to come into the EU to work as it benefits the employers and keeps the workers in thier place.

I’ve said this many times. I don’t blame them for bettering themselves. Who here wouldn’t want a better standard of life if they could get one? Why have so many Brits emigrated? They all wanted a better life. If offered a job for decent wedge in Poland…I’d be off like a shot.I dont appreciate bring called an idiot !

I know several eastern europeans and have been there many times, it is not personal. But you cannot deny they have made a negative difference to the British lorry drivers lot. To do so is plain stupid. I do not blame them for coming here atall but our lives are " different " because of it.
I NEVER said YOU were any of the above. I NEVER said THEY were holding back wages.

My life is no different to them being here. In some cases, it’s actually enriched my life.

I would say in London it’s a 50/50 split between white British and other ethnic groups.

We’ve only got one foreign driver and he’s English
Out of a driving fleet of 65 drivers we have 2 Polish lads (one is possibly he hardest working driver i’ve ever met…the other lad is ok but struggles with directions to farms 
) and 1 Hungarian lad who keeps himself to himself…on our catching teams it’s about 20% Polish and in the factory it’s a mix of UK/Poland/Ukraine/Iraqi…make’s for some interesting fight’s in the canteen when the Iraqi lads start catching up the Polish girls

couple time i haer from lady ,who to many Kurdish “strong man” in the bed>
No one is perfect. However, being British is close enough.
Please take under consideration that some of the Polish drivers are British Citizens too, like me
