Why should it be a joke

The OP has never used a digital tachograph and would like some information, he hasn’t suggested that the regulations are different for Digital or Analogue tachographs.

Using a digital tachograph is the same as using an analogue tachograph

“Please say this is a joke”

They are real easy mate pop it in, press 2 buttons then drive! When you take your break, press one more button, when your finished drive off!Have you found a job?

This really confuses me also as I have never had the chance to yet use my digi card. Registered with an agency and they told me that they tell the clients/employers that you already know how to work it, even though I’ve yet to get a job. :unamused: Stupidly worried that If I get a call from the agency I’ll look like a fool because I don’t know how to use the digi.

They’re really not too bad - the menu talks you through the basics that you need reasonably well. There is an online simulator somewhere - I’ll post the link if I can find it, although I think it’s on here somewhere. The bit I always ■■■■ up is putting the card in upside down, and getting it spat out again!

There’s loads of bits tucked away, but you probably won’t need them very often, if at all.

Just read this and what a stupid statement to make he obviously couldn’t think of anything positive to say .

Does seem a bit bizarre that somebody sits in a New Drivers forum, then criticises somebody for asking a New Driver question.

Well I thought the bit saying:

might have made it a bit obvious that he isn’t a time-served, experienced driver. However, maybe he is just supposed to soak it up by osmosis, despite getting his licence before digi tachos came in. Or maybe you just can’t think of anything useful to say, so rather than do what the rest of us would do and keep quiet, you have to say something, and make yourself look an arse in the process. If you want to be an arrogant prat, there are other forums on this very site where you’ll fit in well!

Have a nice day

Gary

You may have a question to ask one day and you could find theres no one there to answer it.

I’m reinstating this post now that I’ve had chance to remove the personal attacks.

The rule for this is quite easy to understand…

It’s OK to attack a person’s POST, but NOT the person.

EG:

Member X:
blah, blah blah… etc.

I’m then OK to write:

That’s a load of crap, or … what you’ve written is complete ■■■■■■■■, or maybe simply… I disagree.

By responding in that way, I’ve attacked the post, but I haven’t insulted or abused the person.

Now for the friendly warning:

:bulb: People who make personal attacks usually end up on pre-moderation.

:bulb: If anybody thinks that they can see themselves in what I’ve written, then please take a few minutes to read the forum rules that you have already electronically agreed to.

Just one thing to remember. Put ya card in before you do ya checks or you will have to mess about setting it to show you’ve done the checks. As told to me once by vosa, and it’s easier if you just put it in then do your checks.
