This is how yesterday went can some tell me if i have to declare a break:-
8:15 leave base - 10:36 arrive Manchester, total drive 2hrs 21mins
Then i get driven back to base in a transit arrive at 12:25
13:05 leave base arrive Enfield 16:05, total drive 3hrs
17:00 get driven back to base in a car arrive at 19:25
My total driving for the day was 5hrs 21mins so i’m thinking i have declare a 45 min break. I’m feel i should not have declare as time being driven back as break as the time is not totally my own do how i please. I had 40mins between arriving back an leaving for enfield of which prob 25mins was having a cuppa ect.
Do i just declare 45mins at some point between 10:36 and 13:05 or should i of stopped for 20 mins during the enfield journey to make the 45mns including the 25mins between runs. If i had stopped during the run to make the 45mins would be frowned upon as i basiclly sat doing nothing from 10:36 13:00
you did over 4.5 hours driving so needed a 45 minute break yesterday. if you started at 815, 30 minutes should have been taken by 1415 to comply with wtd. that would leave you neediing a another 15 before reaching 4.5 hours driving.
time in car being driven to my mind would be “other work”, sure somebody will confirm or deny all of the above. lol

You will have to declare a break, not only for the EU regs but for the WTD. A good time to have it would of been when you got back to base at 12.25 (dinner time!) before setting off on the Enfield run.
