chappers580:
wheelnut,it was only the 3 series that had the visor underneath an that was somthing that scanias put on as standard as me ol man had 113 on cel group years ago an they all had them on !! areodynamic’s allegedly !!!

mr ed:
i do apologise shutltle but i did ask 4 opinions not just a slaggin off after every comment

lol…   shuttle slagging of never !!! never i tell ya, its just a bit of wee,wee taking   its just that shuttle feels a little “” well u think about it??" is it because he owns them poor mans trucks  whats only any good down hill ■■ ooh thats it they call them DAF"s
in other words mr ed its a daf thing thats all        :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

chappers580:

It sort of looks OK on this one, but to be honest the one next to it looks far better, you can stick extra lights in it if you want and colour code it 1/2 or full, made for the truck, suits it.
If you notice most trucks with the extended visor have lights/signs etc extending forward and down towards the visor to make it look like it is only sticking out a little.

It looked good on an old truck, but just makes the Scania look more like a crash helmet IMHO

why rip it off ■■? jus cos other people don’t like it !! each to their own fella !! it looks different an thats wot counts !! yea i admit ya maybe need to paint it an maybe add a headboard !!! why follow the crowd if we all liked the same thing the world wud be a borin ol place to live !!!

OMG the one with the silly nameboard on the front looks even worse :frowning: :frowning:

Doing lorries up is getting a bit like a chav birds nowadays, the chavettes have 2 rings on every finger & half hundredweight of Argos’s finest in their ear lobes, more chains than Mr T & they look awful, those Scanias are the lorry equivalents, you can have too much of a good thing you know.

to be honest with you there ed i reckon a lick of paint and eddie williams sign writing on it and it will look the ■■■ but it doesnt do much for you lookin like that
cheers, Josh

It look alright to me - would be better in white, but if you like it - leave it as it is.

Its your wagon, have it how you want it.

my dad had a J Reg 143 450 6x2 tag tha never had the sunvisor underneath, his had scania flaps on the front i didnt think the sunvisor was standard tho?

needs more funiture to complement it, on its own it stands out too much and draws ya attention too much. with a row of spots on top or a dutch style headboard i’d say it could work with the right paint job :sunglasses:

they never came with either as standard back then, you could spec the under bumper dam as it was called. the front flaps were never a factory option as far as i know, either dealer/owner/driver fit.

I think it looks quite good

It don’t take much to improve a Scania

you want to be careful saying things like that on here, the OP gets the right hump

ITS all been goin on, on here whilst i’ve been on face book. I like it ED, but then i’ve excuses. Firstly i’m a Scania man, secondly i’ve seen lots of pix with them painted and thirdly i can think out of the box. As for slaggin off/ over reacting, its all part of life. A bit like if her indoors says “does my bum look big in this?” You answer question like that at yr own risk!

   Both trucks got the nameboard on! :roll

Yeah I know, but only one has a 3 series topline visor on it & as that’s the topic of the post… :unamused:

As Tappy & Mr Vain have said, think out of the box, if we all liked the same stuff then life would be very boring, I personally don’t like it, or them headboard things, but that’s my opinion, I’m also quite sure that if the 3 series visor was fitted on all 4 series we’d all be saying that the 4 series visor looked awful.

I had a 3 series Topline Streamline when the 4 series came out & was given a new 4 series Topline on an early P plate, it took me ages to get used to the looks, I thought it looked like a giant crash helmet, I still prefer the looks of a 3 series Streamline but the 4 series & current R range is a nice looking lorry too, they just take a bit of getting used to, a bit like the Ford Sierra, at first everybody hated them, a year later it was the best selling car in the country. I still don’t like that visor though

I’ve always thought that the factory visors look a lot better than aftermarket ones, back in the F88 & 111 days, Hatcher IIRC used to market an alternative & while it looked ok it was no match for the proper ones.

So, same ■■■■, different day :open_mouth:

i take it you was daft enough to ask one day

I like it :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
its something different

Keep it Mr Ed …Just paint it and signwrite it maybe it’ll be fine…Did it take long to fit can you do it quicker than a daf fitter can change head gaskets!!!

definatly loose the visor, but keep the paintwork, i think its really smart., simple but effective.

As long as it keeps the sun out of you’re eyes who cares? When you stop for a break you can stand in front of the truck for a ■■■ and shelter out of the rain at the same time!

I don’t honestly think it looks that bad as long as it does the job.
