When I thought about posting this topic I knew it would go one of two ways, one way would have been totally negative and full of inuendo and cruel jokes. The other was the way it very thankfully went, apart from a very few adverse comments which we were bound to get, the topic gave people who had probably never given the question very much thought the oportunity to express their own views and fears. I myself have learned a valuable lesson from the brave chaps who openly admitted that they were gay. that lesson was this, we are all made up of a very complex set of genes, it only takes a very small difference in those genes to seperate Hetrosexual from Homosexual, I too had fairly dogmatic views on gay people up until I read all of these possitive threads, I hope the very many other people who have hit this topic learned a little something as well. As I stated in an earlier thread I never intended to ridicule or mock gay people and I am very glad that none of them have taken offence, I think every body who has contributed to this topic in a positive way should feel quite proud of themselves, well done.Keep it tight !

Sorry chaps, just been reading about the nasty swear words on the thread at the top! I was actually referring to my own wee rant ! Just havin’ a bevvy and suddenly remembered a slogan i’ve seen on the back of a cab somewhere , it some how seemed appropriate to the high brow debate raging over the ether this evening

I am suprised that the mods etc have allowed this thread to continue, or at least moved it into another area more relivant to general discussion & banter

Quite, however this just goes to prove how many closet cases there are.
what a load of tosh.
low bridges have been done to death on this site, homosexuality hasn’t so by its nature its going to get a lot of hitsOpinions are all very well when they are subjects of knowlege and or education
“Load of tosh?” You see, I don’t get where people like you get off, I’ve heard the sniggers behind my back for years, but for some strange reason nothing is ever said to my face. Hiding behind a screen is fine, but why not wear your colours on your sleeve?
For the record, I’m ex army, used to be married, have two beautiful daughters and I live with my long term boyfriend.
As a gay man, I have taste, and I haven’t seen ONE trucker that I’d touch with anyone else’s mangy shrivelled up excuse.

PS. Happy Keith, I can and regularly do enjoy a good joke, there have been a few on here, and I am not just referring to some of the posters. Some things just ain’t funny when they are directed at you, even if the offender doesn’t appear to have two brain cells to rub together.
As for the topic not being covered before, it has, to death, in “Gay lorry drivers…Whats the deal?”. Admittedly it’s locked, but then 7 pages of [zb] certainly bored me…
heart on sleeve i’m straight
you’ve proven a point, 1 thread on homosexual, how many are there on low bridges

I think the moderaters let this topic run because it gave people a chance to comment on a very emotive subject, and I am glad they did, common sence has won the day and the argument.
so it should stay here,
its been what forums should be about, some for, some against, some humour, what more do you want?
None of the posts on the thread have broken any rules, yet. The subject is about truck drivers so it seems the Professional Drivers Forum is the place to discuss it. I can’t think of another forum it would be relevant to.
I’m gay. I’m not bothered what people think. At the end of the day i’m like any other 24 year old. I just happen to like men.
My partner is a gunner in the Royal Irish Regiment . A good few folk in is work know about his ■■■■■■■■■, but it doesn’t bother them and so it shouldn’t. He’s there to fight for his country, not to be judged for his ■■■■■■■■■.
Alot of people have a stereotypical image of a gay guy, George Michael, Alan Carr, Julian Cleary etc… Yes a majority of them are like them, but not everyone.

I agree, yet it is only very few years ago he would have been, quite literally, drummed out of the regiment had his ■■■■■■■■■ come out.

Yeah mate thats what he said, but it shows that times are changing - and for the better. Although there are still plenty of knuckle draggers about who can’t seem to move with the times.
