OK, lets put this in perspective. I dare anyone, and I mean anyone to counsel 14-18 year olds on whether they might be gay… believe me it isnt easy.
I used to do this on a regular basis on IRC (Internet Relay Chat,) the original chatrooms. I’m married and have two kids and I’m as straight as the next man. Though one of my best mates happens to be as gay as the day is long, it was his room and he asked me if I would mind counselling for him… which I didn’t mind doing. Now whether or not I made a difference I don’t know, but I tried my damned hardest telling these kids… from all over the world… that being gay or straight doesn’t really matter in life.
We used to get the occassional “Gaybasher” in that room, calling us all sorts of names, but we didnt let it get to us and we carried on regardless. Unfortuently the room has stopped running now as more and more homophobic people came in a wrecked it for the kids that were having ■■■■■■■■■ problems.
I’ve also rented a room from a gay couple way before I was married, I even went to a gay pub with them on more than one occassion. Most gays, and I’m sure Truckmate will agree with me on this one, once they find out you are straight will treat you like any other person. They are fun loving and great to have a beer or two with, so why dont you self proclaimed “homophobes” try going for a drink with them■■?

Well I will cut a long story short.
A Few years ago I was meeting a few mates in a town i didn’t know,
and had about a hour to spare so i went into a pub for a drink got my drink
and after been chatted up by a few men i left (signs should be on those places)
got up the street and i was grabbed by three men and put in a car. and it was about a year before i was physically ok.
That is why i am a homophobe.
Have a drink with them? i have!
I could say a lot more but i do not want to be band of this site.
I think several of them e stobart drivers are post op gender re-aligment cases cos they all drive like wimmen!!

But I never realised straight bashing etc went on?
Once I met a mate, I parked in front of him, went to his cab, only to find four guys robbing his truck, they all had knives, we got a few brusies but believe me so did they. Were were lucky to get away with our lives to cut a long story short.

Live and let Live you don’t know who you could be working alongside and I treat people the same way I want to be treated, with respect
