I have to agree, as drivers we know the pressures and things can get forgot so I would bag up another drivers kit and put it in a side locker.

I would never touch another drivers stuff in the same way as I wouldn’t touch their wives, oh ok that’s not exactly true but you know what I mean…

I was used this truck full 2 week.But why he leave cooking stuff in fridge???How lond can taked to taked all in plastic back and put in top matrasse or taked home???I think all about 5 minutes.After this truck i taked another truck .When i want eating i oped table (Daf)but there may be 200 coin of different money(euro,pound and more).Why need leave this .This drivers 5 week away.

Used to leave most of my stuff in when I had an xf cos I could lock it away , now I’ve got the German Bedford it all comes out , thanks to having no locks on the storage cupboards or underneath the bunk :smiling_imp:

i going back in on 2nd jan but for just 3 half weeks then im off for a month.so for the next few fridays ill start to take stuff out as i carry a lot due to doing general on flats and never know what i may need only thing of mine own left in cad is the DAB radio i had fitted couple of years ago.as if fitted its not that easy to take out every time.i just leave a note of how to use it and tell off if it gets damaged or stolen they pay for it or tell me who has been driving it so i can find out how they damaged it and get money off them for repairs or replacement.but lucky everythings been fine

Bloody hell, stop the presses, breaking news just in. Adonis and I agree with each other! Its a miracle, Praise be to lord Jesus!

Now I run my own I tend to take long weekends rather than actual holidays. I can do Sunday - Thursday and still make a profit in week one, then Tuesday to Saturday in week two and do the same thing. If I needed a week out of the cab though I wouldn’t strip it, I never did before. Personal stuff comes out, valuable stuff comes out. Everything else gets put under the bunk and a note is left, (though now it will be when I brief the cover driver myself rather than a note) The top lockers and top bunk are clear for your storage, anything under the bunk is mine and you shouldn’t even need to look at it, let alone touch it. The kettle, microwave and toaster are free for you to use provided they are kept clean. Smoke in my wagon and I prosecute. Have a nice week. :slight_smile:

Was the same when I had an assigned motor. No need to worry about agency drivers throwing my belongings away as we never used them. Took the keys home every weekend and every holiday.

i`ve worked for firms where even the boss has said.bag everything up…put it in the warehouse, that trucks yours…if a driver is away for a couple of days, thats fine, its when they go on holiday, and i get their motor and all the ■■■■ that goes with it for the next 2/3 weeks…sorry but that space becomes mine, and i too carry a lot of stuff and need the space…broken fingers or not…if you dont clear the cab…i will.

To be honest if you want to come back to find things as you’ve left them you be best to take the bumpers, lights , mirrors etc with you and just leave the agency with a chassis and wheels

What the hell do drivers carry in personal belongings, that need to take that much time or space to clear a cab.?
for me all i carry is one suitcase & bedding. max 5 mins to clear cab.

Our trucks get parked up when we’re on holiday so I just leave everything. I hate emptying cabs. Next time I have to do it will be march ish when I get my new motor. [emoji4]

Don`t know where you work,but I suspect its not on general work if your Boss can afford to have a motor standing idle because a driver is on holiday.
