Trampers how much of your stuff do you take out when you leave the truck for 2 weeks.I have read on here some of you take 3 to 4 hours to change vehicles.
Just Curious as i just about to take a couple of weeks off.
Whatever you don’t want to be stolen take out of the truck…everything else just leave in

Didn’t think of that one way to get rid of all the crap.
I travel light, in 15 mins my stuff is emptied. Happens about once a month, but thats due to how we operate, not changing trucks.
Its not rocket science, chuck everything into a box apart from one locker which is all truck related stuff.
If I want to keep it, I take it out. So, everything. No point carrying crap I don’t need…
Half an hour and the cab is empty and clean. Very rare it happens as I don’t take time off really.
Our trucks get parked up when we’re on holiday so I just leave everything. I hate emptying cabs. Next time I have to do it will be march ish when I get my new motor. [emoji4]
I had two days off just before Christmas and I took everything out. I gutted the whole unit.
I take the keys home,so left everything apart from bedding and water ■■■■.
Mainly anything valuable (sat nav, iPhone charger etc)
Anything breakable such as my plate
And anything that can use the opportunity for a proper wash such as duvet cover, pillow cases, knifes and forks etc
The rest stays in such my duvet, pillows, some cleaning stuff, my folder of time sheets and other bits n bobs.
I generally get everything in 2 bags when I’m off for a week or more so I only need to do one trip from my unit to my car without having to go and get my car and drive up to the unit.
Truck not belong for trampers .Any tramper must taked everything out or must be prepareed who somebody put some stuff in bin. Some trampers crayzy people little bit.about one month ago i taked truck for my next 2 working week when main drivers on holiday.I found in fridge some cooking stuff and put in the bin.He complain after for me.I ask him how much you want for old cooking stuff,He said 20 pound.Ok i paid him.
At least drivers must taked all own item and put in travel bag and put this bag at the top matresses.

The truck doesn’t belong to the tramper, if the tramper doesn’t take all his kit out it’ll all get chucked away. Some trampers are crazy, I had the same truck for 2 weeks and found some cooking stuff but I binned it all and the regular driver complained so I reimbursed him, I did wrong .
I try and have my holidays in week or two week blocks as it’s a full strip down for me if another driver is using my truck (Ehh I mean company allocated regular steed).
This year has been a pain though as I’ve had to do full strip downs for long weekends and odd days off due to weddings, stag doos and ritual circumcisions.
In general it takes about an hour from scratch, 4 to 5 bags with each locker or 2 having its own bag.
Usually start stripping during the day then when back in the yard I can do it in 30mins.
Obviously my bedding has to have its own asbestos grade bag and sometimes a blow torch is needed to detach my undersheet from the mattress.
Try and leave it as clean as possible for the next driver and full of fuel with no defects, relief drivers are normally company floaters as my lot won’t allow outside agency lads on trampers trucks unless it’s an emergency.
To be fair the one time they did on mine the truck was absolutely spotless when I got back.
Before retiring it was Personal ,breakable and bed linen removed for washing, leaving cleaning stuff along with a note PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE THE CLEANING MATERIALS, SO YOU CAN LEAVE THE CAB AS CLEAN AS YOU FOUND IT.worked most of the time
i certainly wouldnt have paid that tramp one penny…in fact i would have dumped anything that wasnt mine…and simply told him he should have emptied it it himself if he wanted 2 weeks off…i have done and would do again…flags, or scarves etc…your loss not mine.
Some of you are very sad people Ffs !
Yes dump old food news papers etc but not personal kit ! Just bag it up and put in side locker
Would you eat the guys food if he left a tin in there as well

So you would bin someone else’s personal belongings because you’re using the truck for a few days?
You’re an utter cockwomble, aren’t you?

My thoughts as well
Even when I was all over Europe, and away for weeks at a time, I live out of a bag, not a lot goes in the lockers, other than the bag, and a few bits and bobs. Can be totally cleared out in 15 mins.
