Model railways, I have built loads of them, ones that filled a room and I once had a steam railway in my back garden.
The last model railway I built was a bit smaller, a project to build a model railway inside a Ferrero Rocher box. It’s a Hornby locomotive, and I printed all the scenery off on the PC. It lights up from a 9v smoke detector battery, or I could plug it into the truck’s 12v.
Obviously it was all tax-deductible.
Harry have you seen that model railway that I think 2 brothers done, they basically have it in a massive warehouse and the attention to detail is amazing even having model cars and famous land marks etc also it changes from night to day every 20 mins or something and everything is lit up… Seriously cool.
Is that Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg you’re talking about? We went there back in April while we were on holiday - it’s an incredible place. There was a feature on How Do They Do It on Sky recently showing how they make it and control it.

rc heli’s, i’ve got a raptor 30 in the garage that hasn’t left the ground in a while and i was only a beginner with it anyway, but i’ve just bought a 4 channel indoor chinook quite fancy a go with planes though. any pics or vids of ya plane?
This is my trusty GoPro 2 attached to the canopy of my RC aeroplane. Pity it was a dull day
i bought my gopro hd about a week before the the hd2 was announced but still an awesome bit of kit
Cheers mate
I’ve been flying about 4 years. That was a test flight, to see how much the camera affected the aeroplane. We also tried to get a bit of formation flying on the go but its alot harder than you think
Definitely agree with you about the GoPro, serious bit of kit but quite pricey too. Especially when its attached to an aeroplane with no real way of stopping it falling off if the adhesive decides to give way.
I usually keep it in the back window of my car now. Provides some great entertainment when someone decides to tailgate you, notices the camera, then for some reason wont come within 100 yrds of the car
yeah mainly used mine with the chest mount for mountain biking, although it must be fine, i’ve not fancied sticking it to the side of my road bike helmet yet!

Dominic Priestley, did you watch Bush Pilots on Dave, students camping in tents to save money,to get a job flying tourists in the bush for game spotting, very nice Australian girl, she got the job,and the ex Ryan Air pilot with 3000 hours, who wanted to be near his dying sister.
No, I don’t tend to watch those program’s, too much dramatisation for my liking.
I am into Minature Wargaming, Flames of War which is all WW2 based, also includes painting all the minatures.
Also play Golf when i get the chance, currently playing off 16
I play guitar,
Ohhhh and i like Beer as well
Is your wargaming proper tactics, scale models etc?
The wargaming that springs to my mind is the sort you see with monsters that students are into, hanging around Games Workshop stores etc.
WW2 sounds more far more interesting…
Should be upwards of 350 bhp, but as its a 21 year old 200,000 mile engine I may be dreaming!
Still its enough to do 13.0 quarter miles ( a bit less when the nitrous oxide works)
Awful weather this year has stopped me using it all season.
Nice, is the foxbody an auto or manual? want one quite badly lol
Its a 5 speed manual. Was an auto to start with but a previous owner rebuilt the car for trackdays, including the T5 `box

Yep, its 15mm scale models, with proper tactics etc depicting all periods of the WW2, although I mainly play the late war period (1944-1945). I enjoy the painting and modelling aspect of the hobby as well. But with a few beers and a couple of mates round it kills a few hours as well as brain cells

Motorbikes, mountain bikes & next year I’m gonna have a go at wind surfing
I was an RYA Windsurfing instructor (Level 5 with open sea and competition endorsements) for years, a long time ago.
I wasn’t bad at the competitive stuff either, but I only ever got silver, not 1 single gold
I’ve still got my original white Windsurfer board. This thing is so old, for decent downwind handling in a bit of a blow (force 4 and above), you have to pull the daggerboard out and hang it over your shoulder. If you don’t, the daggerboard will hydroplane and flip the board over, it’s enormous
These days daggerboards are much smaller and can be flipped up out of the way, plus the boards themselves are designed to sail up-wind much better.
Mine is basically a surfboard that’s been modified to take a sail and daggerboard although it was built as a windsurfer, not as a surfboard.
It’s great fun, once you crack the sailing bit. I’d recommend getting proper lessons because it’s nowhere near as easy as it looks. A proper instructor will have you sailing fairly quickly because they will pick-up your mistakes and point you in the right direction. Struggling away on your own will be very disheartening, especially if your only trying it for a bit of fun.
Getting started on a lake is easier than on the sea. The waves are much smaller, so they don’t shove the board about underneath you nearly as much.
I hope you enjoy it
