Does sound a bit dodgey!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah probably not the best place to post

Dat’s a flash truck mister

Lol job wise , do they get paid much better for carrying high value or ? Just want more money sick of my £6.60 p/h lol

You could try getting a job with a printing company that produces bank notes then all you have to do is lose a pallet or two and you don’t have to worry too much about your hourly rate.

If only lol , I mean ino times are hard but 6.60 is a joke you have to bang out 60hours a week for under 350

You could try and renegotiate your wage or look for something else.

But it’s highly unlikely that load contents will be a factor of your wage scale.

You’ll have high value loads on general haulage with any normal firm.

Bloody hell, I know that things are a bit tough up here but £6.60? You would be better-off on the agency, who do you drive for?

Alan

I mainly do High value loads and have received Hijack training
when I was in full time work and money is same also move a lot
of high value loads through agency work also money no better and
there as been hijackings so I have been told.

As said above you get high value loads on general haulage with any
normal firm and move loads like alcohol, tobacco ect in curtainsiders
with no real security measures it makes you laugh sometimes. It don’t
matter what you carry its all worth something to someone at a place I
worked for a lorry got hijacked about 2 mins after leaving the yard
carrying a part load of chewing gum

People will do anything for a quick buck these days thats why I always carry my 6cell maglite

No, they don’t they are paid the same as others. We carry high value loads quite often. Algough my rate is better for driving a sprinter…

What is classed as a high value load?

I picked up 26 pallets of Pampers nappies the other day, the price they are in the supermarket makes them a high value load!!!

Yeah if someones doing a full scale hijack of your lorry best let them get on with it rather than trying to threaten them with a torch.

Yep that’s the irony really. It’s not necessarily the actual value of the load that makes it nickable but the ease of disposal. The most nicked things in supermarkets are things like razors not the dvd players for example. I regularly carry items valued at well over a million on an open trailer but they’re not easily nickable and not easy to dispose of. The guy parked next to me with 26 pallets of coke/shampoo/pampers etc etc on is a much more attractive load for the scumballs to rob. :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

OP if you’re after better money you need to look at own account type transport or some kind of specialised job like tanks, wide loads. The money tends to increase with the more complex/specialised nature of the job. The job tends, in most cases, to be a bit more relaxed than the cutthroat general ragside type of work.

Remember though, these jobs will not be broadcast and no matter how many regular miles you’ve done you will be a noob again
