busy at Mo…i’ll be back
This would be your previous post and I have asked my my other half to explain but he doesn’t understand the full stops either.
Be careful how you deal with me because the rumour is true ,I do bite.
The other members sexist comments are made in a fashion that is very tongue in cheek which in turn is supported by smilies if you take the time to go back and study them you will see for yourself. If that fails, presuming of course that you have a woman in your life (if you are challenged in this area the little old lady at the library will probably be pleased to help.) the lady of your choice I’m sure will be only too happy to point out how your condesending attitude prevokes such a response. As women in the industry we deal with a variety of responses from the men that we work with ranging from the non-repeatable to the “I knew a woman driver once.” and the " It’s good to see a woman behind the wheel" brigade.
You have the lads that go home and whinge to their missus about how hard they work to support the family that don’t like to see that its not so bloody hard after all.
Another catagory would be the lads that find a bird behind the wheel of an artic a turn on and these are the saddest of them all.
Luckily though the majority of the lads you work with treat you as a valuble team member, they share banter with you without patronising and make it a pleasure to work together.
What we are trying to get you to understand is that we are all drivers, if a bloke pulled into an msa then did a tidy reverse you wouldn’t mention it back at the yard but if a woman did the same you would tell everybody. It is not admiration for breaking the mold that we deserve it’s admiration for living in a goldfish bowl, being stared at, discussed and congratulated by blokes like your self that run around impressed with themselves because they think they aren’t sexist.
I thank god though that folk like you are in a minority now and that Lucy and I are lucky enough to share our lives with the
" Great your running late, KERCHING! I’ll have the tea on when you get in." kind of blokes which makes dealing with chaps like you easier.

sorry i’m alway missing words…
Don’t wory about it, everybody is welcome at Trucknet we consider all members opinions a valuble resourse be them male, female, black, white ect ect it’s an equal playing field even those who struggle with their spelling and grammer. Singling people out makes them uncomfortable un-nessasarily when it’s their opinions and experiences as a driver thats important.
Lady trucker…u’ve got issues…
but i haven’t got quite the time to answer u now…off to Chepstow again…i will properly later…but what i can say right now…is once again your taking things to the extreme…and this is the kind of OTT ■■■■■■■■ arguement that a PC person would come out with…your twisting and adding bits to my arguement to suit you…
Back to deal with u later

I am quoting using your words, if you can find anything in your posts that are not your own words then please bring them to the attention of admin as I must be breaking the rules which is not something that I have ever been accused of in the past.
I believe that you have issues and that is my right ,as it is your right to disagree with me.
The nature of this argument has changed as far as I am concerned and all I have done is try to point out how your attitude was acceptable 20 years ago but these days it is you that draws more attention to yourself thinking that women are breaking the mould by driving than I’m doing by being a driver. You are being offensive about my beliefs though I have the right to disagree. I don’t deserve any congratulations for going to work and paying my bills. I have been on the recieving end of some pretty serious abuse but I still drive and I don’t ask for favours just for acceptance as a proffessional driver but as I have already pointed out your attitude is in the minority and heading in the right direction.

Sorry LT, but i’m with Gurner on this one.
Right, i’m off to go and sit in the ‘sado’s corner’.
I have not read the whole of the above so if it has been said before i am sorry.
All i am going to add is that it is nice to have more female truck drivers on the road. Its what our industry needs. I am fed up with some men treating this as thier (and ony thier) industry. Women in my opinion are equal to us, as we are to them, so why cant they drive a truck? Its just a shame that our industry is male dominated at the moment. My fiance is taking her Class 1 tomorrow (wednesday) and all the lads, and myself have always treated her like ‘‘one of the lads’’ so to speak and no different because she has a ■■■■■■. And in my opinion thats how it should be. I was stuggling to get in a bay today as it was a little tight, with a row of drivers watching. One of the drivers was a lady and when i pulled away and got out to close the doors she reversed in first time. All i said to her was ‘‘Show off’’ to which she smiled and laughed. I would have said the same if it was a bloke. Remember we are all EQUAL. No matter what age, ■■■, colour, ■■■■■■ orientation (spelt wrong i think) or ability. Women should be in our industry as most of them do a better job than us men. This is not a patronising post, and i hope it does not come out that way. If it does i will edit it.
Andy
Good luck to your girlfriend…
Have a good read when u get the time…then u’ll get the proper gist…your only off a slight bit
…u’ve written nothing wrong…at all
I was going to reply Ladytrucker to your posts……….when I noted something whilst travelling down the M40 coming back from Didcot………which I think is a brilliant way to sum up this argument………….
What I noticed is you and Lucy……are like the usual ■■■■■■■■ annoying residence of the middle lane on our motorways……(although Lucy maybe exempt…as she hasn’t posted lately or maybe she’s tramping somewhere hence)………….sat there plodding along…in their own little world……haven’t got a clue what hell going on around them……….their doing perfectly fine……that is all that matters……nothing wrong with what their doing…traffic hasn’t stopped cos of them……so what’s wrong………■■?..….I’m here….It’s modern……it’s the new way of motoring on the motorways…………anything else is old fashioned and out of date………….What’s SuperSmiley doing on the inside lane…oooohhh that’s……60’s Man……everybody just follow in the middle lane we’ll all be happy…………
MUPPETS!!!...Fixed narrow minded dumb logic…….
Now the majority of us…….with a bit of logic, respect and consideration for others, travelling along in the correct lanes have to work around your train of ….logic…….and go all the way around from the inside lane to the outside and back again……………just to please you………(I’m assuming the inside lane is clear……and we don’t want to get pinched for undertaking)………we have to compromise our own non-interfering ways just to keep u happy……
…….(and yes before anyone say’s it……a lot of people do travel in the middle lane without realising it……but if u flash them they see logic and tend to shift…hence my use of ……“The majority of us”……but u’ll get those one’s who just won’t………)
(The point being…when most people are shown a logical argument they shift to the logical side)
Then u get the situation of when u go behind middle lane hog………and flash them to point out…what their doing (saying) isn’t logical……and get the cold stare in the rear view mirror……. “What u flashing me for mate this is modern motoring……u need to sort yourself out……and fall in line with our dumb thinking……and if u don’t like it….stay away from me…….use the outside lane……and get pass quick and stay away……your not one of us”………….
They are so narrow minded they can’t see logic or bend to agree somewhere along the line with others…….even when it stares them in the face.
Basically for those whom haven’t understood my comparison to the Middle lane Hog crowd…….Ladytrucker and the rest of her whinging minority……have their fixed views……and don’t move from the middle lane no matter what…….Hence the rest of us whom manage to get along and accommodate others with our different views have to inconvenience ourselves…either following suit or quickly skipping around …to keep her and the of rest her PC loving arses happy……otherwise she’ll kick-off…….bleating out a load of crap………and saying we’re old fashion thinking and sexist….
LadyTrucker if u look down u might find there is a big hole in your foot…where u shot yourself in it……….I quote
“I have been on the receiving end of some pretty serious abuse”
What have I been saying all along…………u’ve got issues……(and maybe the same goes for Lucy)
Now alas we are getting down to the truth…….every time people come out with argument such as yours…its always due to some personally issues and experiences.
I actually sympathise with u and do understand where your coming from……….but what u’ve got to realise……is u can’t go around preaching u’re issues onto everyone else………then saying their old fashion and sexist if they don’t agree………….your issues are your issues…no-one else’s……deal with those whom discriminate again you……but don’t try and control the rest of us cos of your problems……….
And just to prove a point……I’ve spoken to a few people about this……but there was one lady I met today………she is a biker……. I asked her straight about praises or comments from blokes………she said……again biking is very male dominated…….hence she accepts…the reality…she’ll get them and has no problem……….
Anyhow as u can see these my posts are written to the level of a Times journalist reporter…….compared to your….Sun Newspaper standards…(dustbin rubbish)….hence forth the two are not compatible…….and to be honest I’m getting bored of trying to explain the simple to yah ….so I’m going to have to do an Ian Collins on yah and cut u off………………
U CAN ARGUE TO DEATH WITH SOME PEOPLE……THEY NEVER SEE LOGIC………JUST COME OUT WITH SOME OTHER ILLOGICAL CRAP……
Yesterday afternoon on the way home on the M1 I undertook, using the exit lane for junction 10, a Hungarian registered DAF SSC driven by a woman. This caused me no end of confusion. She was a woman. She was driving a LHD. She was doing this on the left side of the road. She was doing it in a foreign country. She hadn’t hit anything.
I am concerned I didn’t show here enough respect, how much should it have been given the facts.
BTW, I was looking at the DAF first, as it was a good un, before I noticed the driver had nice bumpy bits and was also a good un.
Your point be■■?..if it is what i think it is…i think we’ve cover this point many times already…so go and read again

Well said, that’s the sort of attitute that is a pleasure to work with and good luck to your girlfriend.
SuperSmiley:
And just to prove a point……I’ve spoken to a few people about this…
I do realise that one of the things I am doing wrong is that I am not obsessing about this when I am at work and approaching the subject with everybody I meet. These are forums for discussions which from time to time you hit on a topic that has no easy answer but under normal circumstances it is not advisable to put your blood pressure under threat because you can’t get other people to see the world through your eyes (it is surely only arrogance that would want to). IMHO it it is you who are resorting to personal insults and repeating the same lines over and over again and in the years I have been driving the work place has become a much more balanced enviroment with a healthier atmosphere and I’m sure that over the next few years with the natural watershed it will improve all the more but in the mean time we will come across people like you and pretend that we appreciate all the stories of the other lady drivers you have met, helped and who have done a great job reversing then after spending at least 20 minutes listening to this crap and having agreed with you that there are more women drivers about now than there used to be and congratulated you on not being sexist, we can get away down the road to the next depot and go through the same routine with the next bloke who met a woman wagon driver once ect ect…
Thank god the lasses don’t feel the need to tell you about every bloke they have met driving a wagon, nothing would get delivered…

(and nobody can tell me otherwise…been out with load of drivers mates…whom always speak…myself also…with great praises…when they see a lady driver)For all your rattling and self congratulation my question still stands unanswered.
Why the admiration?
Takes some planning… doing all the housework, cooking, cleaning, ironing, fetching the cold beer, serving marital needs
