High rider or Low rider

and a Indian lady suddenly pulled up in an artic…and jumped out and wondered off somewhere…

Seeing an asian looking person jump out of an artic at an MSA and wander off isnt that uncommon, sometimes you see several dozen jump out of the back at once.

he seems more interested in what I have done with the clean laundry!

Ahhh…So that’s where I’m going wrong…

but i’ll be back to defend myself…against u dream talkers…

Someone tells you that they find what you say patronising and insulting so you reply by descending yet further into a pit of condescension? :open_mouth:

Why do men always do that when you tell them that they are wrong…? :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Lucy:

We see it often enough but the thing I don’t understand with chaps like this is which bit of the job is suppose to be the hard bit?
Which bit is it that women deserve praise for being capable of doing?
I have thought long and hard, ( before you all start no I am not basing my presumptions on pulling a parcel wagon on a drop and swap to the same depot day after day, I am basing it on general haulage, tramping here and abroad) is it the size of it? because believe it our not boys things are often smaller and easier to handle than you believe. Is it the navigation because blessed with the ability to stop and check the map or even :open_mouth: ask for directions then it really is not that difficult.? If it’s the long hours then anybody who has bought up kids and ran a home will understand that working full time is the easy option. Our home houses two full time artic drivers so to keep it ticking over it takes both parties to share the house work and repton is as capable of manouvering sauce pans as I am at manouvering a 40’ trailer. The other half is better at rules and regs than me and handles most of the admin side of the business but I have more experience on the road so I help him out if he comes across stuff at work that he is unsure of.
So what is it that makes it impressive?
P.S Men are more likely to get caught at work in a skirt so climbing over the wagon is not an issue.

cornish trucker:
repton :open_mouth: I learn something new everyday! Does that mean you are now known as Lord Repton?

John

Or Saint Repton.

I’ll be hiding somewhere over there ===================>

what are these sauce pans you talk off. surely they got done by the same laundry fairy that picks my socks up off the bathroom floor

mucho’s respect for the repmeister

jon

can cook but cant be arsed

Now now you can behave yourself! :smiling_imp:
LT struts around the house and repton runs to find something “urgent!” to do in the garage. :open_mouth:

It must be the steering that impresses them…being able to swap hands whilst going backwards without getting our ■■■■■■■ caught. :bulb:

PMSL@Lucy         When they have gone as far south as mine it’s the peddles you have to watch. :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Right I’m back……….First of all let me make it clear………I’m not backing down to anyone…….if someone actually reads my posts……(with a clear minded approach) and comes up with a valid objectionable reply then maybe so.

Let me also make it clear I’m only referring to driving in the UK……so if your mind was international……then fair is fair……I’m not sure what the situation is like abroad.

Ok I’ve just read my posts again, in the first one it may have sounded as if I was referring to the woman’s ability to do the job. This certainly was not the case……as I tried to clear up in the second post….and the example used in my third post, was just to further this point. If u read it without prejudgment…….there is no reference to the Indian ladies ability drive ……or ability to do the job in any which way…I couldn’t careless……it was just the fact that to see an Indian woman actually driving a lorry is an uncommon and unusual site……FACT….hence it will raise natural initial interest………if a white lady just turned up in a village in the middle of nowhere in India…she would attract attention……natural human reaction

So how the hell is that discrimination………■■?

Lucy…….I never once said that u should go up to the person and praise them……actually I said u would treat them as anyone else….It’s just when u see a female driver……in your mind…u think

“Yeah….go on lady…and I want to see more ladies on the road”…(this is not just my view….as posted before)….…

but if someone does compliment u….so long as they are polite, not patronising or rude and u can sense they are genuinely praising u…….then just chill, relax and try to understand were their coming from.

And even if this is discrimination its……GOOD discrimination…………

Discrimination has been going on from day dot in lots of different way…and it takes individuals at the start (whom always have stood out) to change things and peoples mentality ……
So seeing lady drivers is helping to show women are part of the team as well as anyone else, and just as capable as men……but we haven’t quite got there yet…… So when u do it’s a nice sight…(although no big deal)….
That is just reality……TUFF……(none of this PC crap….which is just Nicey….Nicey…perfect world…liberal talk with no real logic or connection to reality……a.k.a…Dream talking ).
Once we’ve got to the point that women are just as common place on the road……such thoughts will dissolve………and it’s getting that way……

‘The unusual will always catch the eye’

When it does come to a situation when someone is looking and discriminating against a women driver……in concern to the job or driving ability…then yes I stand fully behind her…as many will…( although with a little give and take…….u couldn’t send a 8 stone lady on a job that involve handballing heavy goods which a bloke would struggle with…….if she was capable fairs fair……but still)

Ladytrucker u’ve obviously gone off in the same direction as Lucy…u may have thought about my post very hard……but never actually read my posts very hard…Tut…tut………and your example was too individual……my were arrived from unsolicited comments made by others in my presents…….

So Lucy and Ladytrucker…….my original comments were that of……respectful observation not discrimination…….and if it was discrimination it was of good nature.

By the way the looking around an MSA……was just an easy example

oooooohhhhh forgot to mention

SuperSmiley has spoken :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

SuperSmiley:
Just about to clean the choppers when a great example came to my head…

Imaging everyones bumming around in a MSA and a Indian lady suddenly pulled up in an artic…and jumped out and wondered off somewhere…

Could u honestly tell me heads would not turn…and small smiles of admiration would not appear on other drivers faces■■?

Bet there are some…but for sure a very unusual site!!!

Even as a passenger mine gets all the attention

Well, the view into the “Power suit clad lady’s” car in the middle lane during rush hour is better in a low rider, unless they have a sunroof!!

High rider for me though coz I’m a shortarse so it’s nice to be above the majority for a while!! :sunglasses:

Supersmiley…we read your post perfectly properly thankyou very much, we just didn’t agree with it. And still don’t. Like it or not, the facts are the same. Women don’t like what you are saying, even if it is good. As far as we’re concerned, we’re just drivers, end of.

Why don’t you go have a little re-read, with an open mind. You might learn something.

SuperSmiley:
(and nobody can tell me otherwise…been out with load of drivers mates…whom always speak…myself also…with great praises…when they see a lady driver)

For all your rattling and self congratulation my question still stands unanswered.

Why the admiration?

Ladytrucker679:

Simple answer to that…A woman that can  :smiling_imp:
reverse   … think I’ll go and hide now…

That was a cheeky edit?
Stand up that man

busy at Mo…i’ll be back

Takes some planning… doing all the housework, cooking, cleaning, ironing, fetching the cold beer, serving marital needs :open_mouth:  … AND driving a truck

Right first of all let me deal with Ladytrucker…all i have to simply say is your use of that quote is in the league of a Sun newspaper journalist…and i’m not the only one who’s noted that…also i would advise u to get hubby to read my previous post…then explain it to u…maybe looking at his charming face…may allow u focus on what i’ve written and not just seeing red and imaging how u’d like to torture me if every got hold of me…then maybe u’ll see the answer to your question…

Lucy…when you say women don’t like what i say…even if it’s good…i think you’ll find that is a minority…within the minority of women drivers…(obviously u’ve bumped into one or two…and no doubt part of that group also)…whinging on what is essentially some PC rubbish…they expect us the majority to fall in line with their line of thinking and views…
That is why this world is getting so screwed up…of ■■■■■■■■ about u can’t do this and u can’t do that…u can’t say this u can’t say that…with no real logic to why…just that 1 person in a 1000…might get offended by the most stupidest thing…TUFF!!!

As far as i’m concerned…( i won’t speak for others) …if a lady trucker is on the rare occasion praise for breaking the mould…(and remember trucking has always been seen at large by the general public as a male thing…that how they manage to get away with the Yorkie bar ad’s and labelling)…and it’s done very politely…and becomes she’s offended… then in my eyes she just a miserable uptight whinging git…who just hasn’t got a clue of reality…can’t see anyone elses point of view other than her own…and i guarantee u has some issues…somewhere along the line…

errrr…so i don’t get tortured too badly…i just like to make it clear that…my last comments were on a general example bases…and not actually directed at you two good ladies…

PS: BTW how come others have posted sexist comments in this debate and i’m the only one getting attacked…for making good comments about women drivers■■?..Typical…just attack SuperSmiley!!!..

I’ll never back…!!!
(well so long as there is a computer screen between us)
