Our DD is still £310/month for gas & electric with Octopus energy on their flexible tariff & we’re still £193 in arrears from the Winter months , It’s like having another bloody mortgage, we paid ours off over fifteen years ago.
The irony when you’ve been advocating going all electric to save the planet from fictional CO2 meltdown.
If the Establishment want us to stop using Gas, then why have they not FORCED Electric prices down with a price cap far lower than the current electric price?
Who wants to buy an overpriced electric car that doesn’t last anywhere near as long as Fossil-Fueled cars, AND costs an utter fortune each time to charge at these public charging points you see everywhere, but hardly ever being used rather than “vandalized”…?
I would post a vid of the many vandalized charging points you see about, BUT there doesn’t seem to be any such video readily available for quick look-up, so I’ll assume that deep state orders are to “make Elecritric vehicles - look better than they really are”. Supress “bad press” stories and vids, whilst pumping up the “It’s all singing, all dancing!” material.
Firstly how and why would/could the government ‘force’ electricity suppliers and retailers to sell electric at below cost price. They aren’t a charity. The truth is electric is an economically unviable form of energy compared to direct fossil fuel use where possible.
While fossil fuelled is the cheapest form of electricity generation.
So are you now advocating a U turn on your personal and the government’s adherence to the climate scam.
The situation of climate scam believers moaning about the price of gas is laughable.
The deluded idea that you can force electricity suppliers to sell it for the same price as gas is even more laughably deluded.
Which is why the government intends to artificially increase the price of gas then ban gas boilers among all the other economically suicidal net zero nonsense.
This is what you wanted right ?.

They havnt lowered electric prices cos tories see it as intefering with the market. Its old 80s tory ideology.
It’s got nothing to do with ideology.Electricity is the most expensive form of energy regardless. While deluded Socialist ideology generally always gets defeated by economic facts.
Good luck with Starmer’s all electric nightmare.

They interfered with the bloody market - by sanctioning Russia over something we didn’t vote for to stop!
I thought the Government was supposed to be implemting wot we voted for, rather than everything and anything we didn’t in the wake of the Covid downturn…
Now all we’ve got is a smack in the face from higher Interest rates, higher energy prices, and shortages of things like Fertilizer and fancy transition metals. ALL because of the “Russia Sactions” that seems to be like burning yourself at the stake over the principal of the thing…
Putin made a move that we cannot return. The government - should have let it go at that, like they did in 2014 when Crimea was annexed.
I wonder how many millions of people will get re-possessed, as the interest rates keep going up and up, until the war ends…
assuming they are lying about “Putin being on his last legs” as well - we will have homeless RIOTING people in this country, if we’re not careful.
Maybe this Nottingham thing is a “Mentally Ill” person who’s recently lost everything, and has now gone nuts?

If this is anything to go by it wont be long before people start kicking off. Around 700000 households missed mortgage or rent payments in the month of April. thisismoney.co.uk/money/mor … finds.html

Did you see their reaction when someone suggested price controls at the supermarkets the other week? Total 80s “That’s left wing, the unions will love it…” Stuck in a time warp.

You mean the idea of wage control to solve price led inflation.Remind me who invented that idea leading to the winter of discontent.
Yep price control by removing VAT and putting it all on income tax and abandoning the climate scam and stopping our ongoing contributions to the EU.No doubt comrade Starmer will view all that with the same contempt as comrade scumbag POS Callaghan.
No wage controls - this inflation isn’t down to “wage growth” because nobodys wages are growing. It’s down to greedy supermarkets chancing their arm and putting prices through the roof in the hope nobody calls them on it.
Tell them to cut their prices - they lose profits they wern’t expecting anyway and we win. Simple.

Since mortgage payments are factored into the next month’s inflation figures - it is hardly suprising that the inflation isn’t “dropping as fast as Sunak hoped”.
He needs to talk a bit more firmly to the Bank of England, I reckon - although I wouldn’t put it past him to want to deliberately cause every mortgage payer in the country to LOSE THEIR HOMES over the next year, building towards this “You’ll own nothing” philosophy they seem to be taking…
Alas, you’ve now got landlords raising rents by rather more than mortgages are increasing by…
How long does it take to get someone who can’t afford £1000 a month to raise £2000 from next month onwards, I wonder?
The price of Gas has become rather volatile this month, which is a bit odd, what with demand being so low, etc.
The price triple-dipped below 40 at one point, but is now back up to 96 (up 11 on the day) as I write this…
The big boys are gearing up to match Elon at his game! A battery start up company called Form-Energy backed by Bezos, Gates & Branson will see the pilot energy storage plant commissioned this year & is touted to store energy at one tenth the cost of Lithium ion battery storage & be the cheapest in the world.

You need to think beyond a metal that dissolves in water…
Cobalt is the future, rather than these fancy lanthenides, or the easy-to-corrode alkali metals like Lithium.
WWIII in it’s first phase we are already in - is about ■■■■■■■■■■ of the entire African continent.
The Chinese are WAY ahead on that count, whilst the hand-wringing Western liberals - still think in terms of “sending money for famine aid” being the way to go, not caring that most of that money goes anywhere BUT the bellies of the starving…
Have you heard about the chinese population crisis tho? Apparantly they’re going to tip over into having more old people than young people soon and the entire economy is going to collapse. (Allegedly)
We have just received a goodwill gesture of £8 ( I kid you not ) from Eon towards our gas/ elec bills , you’d think they could afford £50 / £100 but it’s seems £10 is too much
I’m hoping there’s going to be a refund too, Octopus energy still haven’t sorted out our electric/gas smart meter readings since being transferred to them by OFGEM over two & a half years ago
We’re still paying monthly DD payments way over our small usage because the meter readings don’t tally with theirs whatsoever. I’ve told them umpteen times that I cant alter/change the bloody meter readings despite sending them photo evidence to the contrary.
They want me to send another photo of the readings on the 1st July to hopefully get it sorted out. It’s a royal PITA to get pics as the meters in this old house are at ceiling height & holding onto the ladder & cupboard door trying to snap the numbers is a juggling act.

We’re down to £18 in debit now , paying £110 pm , I assume all our readings are off the smart meter , as I can remember the last meter reader that came to the house , my aunty who’s late 80,s , on her own , 3 bed semi is paying £245 pm , not sure who’s shes with

Our monthly DD is £360 & still over £600 in arrears according to them FFS. I want to get over half of that monthly payment knocked off & a refund. There’s only the missus & me & we use energy sparingly, the only thing on during the day is the PC,TV & Fridge freezer. When I used to send in readings they said you seem to be using a lot of electricity, are you sure that’s the meter reading I said yes & sent them a photo reading. It didn’t resemble anything like the reading they had on file for these meters so I stopped sending in monthly readings. I’ve kept a monthly record of the readings ever since.
If you are on direct debit payments make sure you put in a reading before friday - the pricing is changing so you will probably get robbed if they have to estimate your reading.
Sad that all these companies now feel so utterly powerful - with no unions to stand up for ordinary people - the supermarkets, the energy companies, water companies etc are all just price gouging and sending inflation through the roof to ensure their profits stay sky high while everyone else suffers.

Yes I’ll be sending electric & gas meter readings in tomorrow but I’m not holding out much luck as it’s been going on too long. I tried to pay just what I used per month but when I send meter readings in they are so out of whack with theirs that the monthly bill totals over £1000 per month They sent a meter reader chap out about three months ago to read the meters even though they’re smart meters & can be read remotely but nothings changed.
