Germany are already signing documents with a Dutch company to build LNG terminals in Brunsbüttel to cut the reliance on Russian gas, The only trouble is the German minister said is It’s not only going to be more expensive than Russian gas it’s going to be exorbitantly more expensive.
Obviously not as ‘exorbitantly expensive’ and dangerous as nuclear electric at 30p per kWh.
If we’re now finally obviously going to ditch the bs CO2 crusade we can also bring coal back online.
Bearing in mind that we are sitting on an ocean of our own gas and oil and a mountain of coal.
Which then leaves the question of those exorbitant carbon taxes being applied to it all.
Or is it different rules for the Fatherland in that regard.
I cant really see how Germany will replace cheap Russian gas to avoid a recession.

The irony when when we’ve all signed up to an agenda which says that we can’t use fossil fuel, so as to stop non existent global warming.
None of us can replace cheap fossil fuel with unaffordable zero carbon electric without causing a recession and people freezing in the winter.
Let alone all because of a bs theory that CO2 cooked Venus and it will also cook Earth.
So let’s keep our own oil and gas for our own and all of Europe including us has more than enough coal which can also be turned into liquid fuel.
Have we got any useable coal fired power stations left or did the tories destroy those in their scorched earth policy of saving the planet , on that subject wouldn’t surprise me if they sabotaged the coal fields so they couldn’t be restarted except for open cast digging of thousands of acres of prime farm land.
Not as the land would be used for growing food seeing as the other crusade our leaders appear to be on is concreting over the whole country in order to import and house what’s left of the third world whilst making us entirely dependent on imported food as well as energy and everything else, about the only successful production here are idiots whom millions of other idiots elect to office.
No, you really couldn’t make any of this crap up.

Coal fired boilers have been converted to biomass like Drax don’t think it would be difficult to reconvert them back to coal.
Also the best coal fields don’t coincide with our best farmland whether open cast or deep mine.
The issue of houses and solar farms covering the best food production land is all about what’s happening in the South East.
While coal would be better used for its gas to liquid possibilities which doesn’t need actual physical mining to access the coal gas and natural gas as we use it now for domestic and electric generation.
Instead of which we’ve doubled our gas exports while the government wants to force us to go nuclear electric at 30p per kWh + standing charge.
As for whether the criminal sabotage of our coal mines was irrevesible only some real miners commited to bringing their industry back on line could be trusted to tell us.
But yes it looks flies and quacks like a planned sabotage of the country to meet some wierd outside imposed agenda.
I think there’s only 2 or 3 coal fired power stations left in operation & their shelf life ends before 2025. If the closure of UK coal fired power stations was reversed it would take an awful lot to get the coals fields back up & running again as they’ll all be flooded & rendered useless by now.

An awful lot to recommission them but pumping them out is better than Bozo’s nuke powered utopia at 30p per kWh and rising , if the useless muppet doesn’t get us nuked by Russia first.
Also Kellingley was only closed a short time ago no way that’s beyond use yet.
While open cast and gas extraction doesn’t need deep mining anyway.Just a big excavator or some deep bore holes and a big hoover.

We are told that we have to go all nuke electric at 30 p per kWh and pay punitive carbon taxes, to supposedly save the planet or if that doesn’t work supposedly because the North Sea has run out.
While the truth is our fossil fuel resources are flogged off to the highest bidder ( Germany and China ).
I got an email off our energy provider (Octopus) yesterday saying we’re on the best tariff (flexible) & we’ll be paying £50 less than the cap price in April.
I’m not bothering with a cheaper overnight EV tariff as the daily rate is really more expensive if you get that tariff & as we’re retired & in all day long I don’t want to be worrying about the higher priced daily rate.
“As you know, global energy costs have risen enormously
So far, we’ve spent £100 million holding down prices for Flexible Octopus customers like you over winter
The Government price cap has increased almost £58 per month for a typical home
The other big suppliers have announced price rises to within a few pennies of the maximum legally allowed
Your prices will be lower: £50 less
We’re not adjusting payments now, but will be in touch soon with a recommendation should your payments need to change
We’re doubling our Octopus Assist fund to £5m to help more customers who need it most”

I’ve told than what to do with their bs platitudes.
The reality is around 30p per kWh for electric and 8p per kWh for gas.Which will increase again in October.
Luckily Ive got gas hob and oven but will be looking at the cost of running a 5 KVA generator on red diesel or even gas and rigging the dishwasher and washing machine to take hot fill.
Also what it takes to install a solid fuel boiler.
These costs are extortionate no doubt their next move will be to equalise gas prices or cut off gas supplies and ban solid fuel boilers then they’ll apply white diesel rules to generators. Its so easy to predict these scammers.
Who needs Russians when we’ve allowed these thieving scum government to hijack the country.
There’s going to be riots come Whitsun,as unlike Free Benefits and Free Food - there’s no “Free Electricity” to be had, although the brudders will probably step-up their layby stirrup pump campaign I guess…

Look on the bright side at least we’ll be able to have a laugh at the expense of all those save the planet useful idiots who have voluntarily gone all electric.
Especially when road pricing gets added to their 30p per kWh EV charge costs. All so that China can take our oil and gas.
Bleddy hell!!! Just got an email off my mate who has an MG ZS EV same as me & same energy company (Octopus), He’s just got his new DD payment plan through starting 1st April, £251/month I’ve got to send them a reading on the 31st of March then they will send me my new monthly DD plan, I’m dreading it.My free old ■■■■■ concessionary travel pass will be getting used a lot more I know that.

They’re avin a larf 250 quid won’t even get close.
My last bill was 115 quid and 40 quid of that was for just 160 kWh of electric.
The electric is going up by around 30% from April.Bearing in mind a litre of petrol contains around 10kwh and at best an EV is only 60% more efficient than ICE so call it the equivalent of around £5 per litre at 55 mpg + road fuel duty and 15% more VAT in whatever form.

A potential 4 Billion bale out of the UK Gazprom subsidiary is on the cards .
Plus the bale out of Bulb is already heading for another £1 Billion over the £ 1,2 Billion budgeted.
All to be paid for by you UK consumers

Our gas/electric joint account was £66 pm last year , put up a month ago to £85 , next month £147 , I feel for the kids , mrs / me can afford it alright , but slot of youngsters with mortgages will struggle

I’ve got to send Octopus energy my meter readings tomorrow then I’ll get my new DD monthly payment plan, Dreading it.
I see the German energy companies are on the Blitzkrieg with court approval to bulldoze homes to opencast a new lignite supply Russia wants Germany to start paying it’s gas bills in Rubles Do they even have an international account for Rubles, Does anybody? euractiv.com/section/energy … -is-legal/

You wanted to go all electric now you can pay for it
Meanwhile we’re sitting on a mountain of top quality coal which can also be used to make liquid fuels. In addition to an ocean of gas and best quality oil.
To which our government’s solution is let’s make ourselves dependent on anything but green nuke and biomass and solar electric at 30p per kWh.While closing our coal industry and exporting all the gas and oil.
Why do you need a ‘payment plan’.I’m with Octopus and just send my meter reading every month. Then they charge me for what I’ve used since the previous reading.
Ironically just heating the living room and upstairs with a 1.5 - 3 kWh fan heater at 30p per kwh will probably now be cheaper than burning the 25 kw gas boiler at almost 10p per kWh.
But standing charges are a joke all + VAT so might even go all electric off-grid a 10kva generator only uses 1 litre of red per hour at half load.No surprise red diesel is now more expensive than using white from the pump and reclaiming the tax.
It’s all obviously a scam.

Yeah but still vastly cheaper than going to the robbers at the petrol station though by a country mile, We pay a set DD amount every month which will now be not enough with the price rises, With the new charges they will then send me a new monthly DD amount we need to pay, I like paying the same amount monthly over the year then I know where I stand. I’ve taken readings/pictures of the meters & sent them in. Well I tried three times but nowt’s going through because of high traffic on their site.

The UK government bales out very little. It lets all the energy companies go to the wall. Why would they bale out gazprom or bulb?

Because if Bulb went bust their customer base is so large that it would be beyond the capabilities of any of the other suppliers to take them on without themselves going pop. As none of the others would be prepared to take them on, Bulb customers then would be left with no electricity or gas supply.
