FFS…This thread in itself shows why we are wasting our timeLet’s crack on and just all do what we want eh? WE ARE ALL POSTING ON A PUBLIC FORUM AND ’ PROFESSIONAL LGV DRIVERS ’ ARE ADVOCATING RUNNING OVER THEIR HOURS.
The mind boggles…
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Drivers always have been, and always will be, their own worst enemies. The ‘crack on’ element has always been as thick as [zb], and this thread shows that it’s still the case.
Agreed, absolutely.
These guys set their ridiculous teararsing pace, so the company expect the other drivers to do the same to keep up with them.
The idiot element of said drivers do try (and succeed) to emulate them.
The other switched on and sensible ones just carry on at their own pace, run legal and stress free, but more importantly …get paid the same as both the idiots and the dumb arsed crack on brigare that instigated all this.

Do you know what’s particularly annoying robroy, we’re hourly paid with a minimum 10 hours per day. Some of our trunk runs are allocated twelve hours, which means a fairly healthy overtime rate is applied. Despite this, some pillocks are determined to do them in under ten. Tipping through break, driving like a loon and not fueling or ad blueing the truck. Drivers really are their own worst enemy.

You’re preaching to the converted mate.
I could give you numerous examples of driver ■■■■ wittery that I have came across over the years with thick as pig ■■■■ drivers shooting themselves (and every body else around them) in the foot.
The latest example does not really affect me personally, as I’m on a Tues start.
If a Sunday run comes up with premium rate and a night out, (which would only involve leisurely setting off Sun day afternoon and parking up) we have the knob who leaves at 5 past midnight Monday am, therefore forfeiting his Sunday rate and n/out, not to mention his leisure time.at home on Sunday, by going to bed in the afternoon (or even worse sleeping in the truck in the yard) to enable him to be awake enough to set off at said time.
When he is told by many that he’s a ■■■■, they get,.‘‘I like to beat the traffic’’
imo Anybody reading this will be a test to see which camp they are in, depending on which of thr following that they think about that.
A. What a prick…(him not me btw )
B. Well I can’t see anything wrong with that.

I worked at a place once that was a distribution-type operation. One day I returned in the afternoon after 12 hours or whatever it was. The guy on the desk wanted to know where I’d been because John/Frank/Sid/whoever did the same run in less than 10 hours the day before, as if I was to care that some brain-dead arsecrack had taken two hours off his wage for the week by tipping on break and spending the whole day flat out on the limiter.
You need only look at some of the posts on here from the ‘crack on’ brigade. It’s laughable to see grown men carry on like they do. Most people grow out of that kind of thing when they’re about 19 and have had their first big scare in a Nova GTE or similar. But no, these morons think it’s some kind of competition to see who can drive the longest, run the heaviest, and act the most aggressive when safely locked in their cab. They even come out with the same hackneyed old cliches such as ‘on the wire’, ‘mirrors blown off’, ‘flat to the mat’ and all the rest of it.

Unlike you and half the people commenting because I don’t spend all my life in my lorry I have these things called friends and I’m not always in my truck so I can do things like go visit these friends I have on a night
Didnt you claim to be “done” with hgv driving because you were sick of having no life only to sneak back into driving without telling anyone a few months later?

I think he did exactly the same with this very forum once, flouncing away with much drama only to return quietly a month or so later.
