Hgv drivers not indicating

no excuse for not indicating in my opinion. looks so bad. i expect it from idiot car drivers but watching trucks pull onto motorways from slip roads straight out without indicating looks awful and unprofessional. changing lanes , turning etc without indicating is ignorant.

Ok

Completely agree mate, been driving trucks 23 years or so & the standard these days is ■■■■■■
How much effort does it take to flick an indicator stalk■■?
We all moan about ■■■■■ in cars not doing it!

Agree with lack of indication on roundabouts but where do you think motorists are going to go on a slip road? Pretty much like indicating round a bend in the road.

Agreed, although I still do it just because it looks a bit arrogant pulling on to a motorway without indicating. Unless I’m feeling arrogant.

It’s called common courtesy… something lacking in this country these days…

& while i’m sitting on my high horse…
While cornering a bend i presume you are not changing lanes hence no need need to indicate, however when approaching a m/way from a slip road then you are are joining a road & therefore you give way hence you ■■■■■■■ indicate!

+1 … ^…Completely agree with your posts

lmao

The ones I find strange are the ones who come down a slip road, force their way out with no indication, and then promptly bang on their indicators to move out into an empty lane two! Wtf?

Thankyou…

Cars not indicating on r/bouts is becoming the norm nowadays, then they throw a wobbly when you pull out thinking their going strait across :smiling_imp: i feel the the lads driving the first batch of auto dafs where you can make a pot of tea and roll a ■■■ before it makes its mind up

Lack of indicating also applies to car and lorry drivers who go around a parked vehicle on the roadside, or a pedestrian walking. The standard of driving is appalling with a lot of drivers taking no pride in their driving.

I use my mirrors and indicate to help and advise other road users as to my intentions. Seems like a fair deal… I don’t do it out of professionalism, as I also do it in my car, or when riding my motorbike. I see it both as good manners and minimising the potential for accidents.

In other news… the sky is blue, sometimes.

Yup and almost always black when I’m working :grimacing:

I agree, I tend to indicate even when there is no other road user at a junction etc. You never know when someone might appear and appreciate a clue as to my intentions. If we all approached driving like this, I think we’d save a substantial amount of queues caused by having to guess other road users plans, and stopping unnecessarily.

Steve

I always indicate as a force of habit and it comes naturally to me, however my missus was taught that you only need to indicate if there is another vehicle in the immediate area which seems logical to some I suppose!

Pete.

I find this very strange tbh. Not only vehicles, but pedestrians, cyclists may find it helpful when you indicate, someone may appear suddenly in the immediate area, also it draws unnecessary brain power to assess the situation and decide whether you should indicate or not. Yes, i am supporter of indicating every time you change lane or turning at a junction

I do a little left right flick when I cut another road user up just in case they have a twunt cam and I can say they flashed me out. Extreme forward planning. Wouldnt really hold up but gives me a bit of leverage.

Dont bother indicating on slip roads anymore as its obvious im joining the carriageway or more accurately forcing my way in and them bulbs only have a limited life span.

Im joking I indicate all the time and even early to give other road users thinking time, surprising how this helps a lot and avoids tea spillage.
