FEAR i guess , really gotta give my class 1 retest my best shot , messed the reverse right up but hoping i`ve corrected that , learnt that reverse SNAIL PACE even off the accelerator and minor adjustments…
worst case scenario i got a skill to take with me…
Why do big companies kick you and make you sweat, when the error/incident/misjudgement can be easily corrected…
Fear?
…That is worse than I thought, if you display fear, well that will just encourage them to carry on in their neo draconian little ways.
I also work for a big co, for 6 and a half yrs now, I certainly do not get kicked, pushed, or made to sweat over trivial events such as this, as I would speak up for myself over perceived attempted unfair treatment, and they know that so I am left to do my job.
I do however understand that everybody is different in temprament.
Don’t get me wrong, if I am genuinely in the wrong (as I have been in the past in work situations) I will freely admit it, and take what is coming to me. However in this case I would just treat it as the ‘mountain out of a molehill’ that they are making of it, with contempt.
I would explain it was a mistake which would be very unlikely to happen again, and suggest to them that we just move on with it, …but I would not just stand there and take any ott crap from them, I would also suggest you take somebody in with you as a back up and witness…to which you are entitled.
If you’ve been there 28 years with an unblemished record, it might be worthwhile pointing out to them how out of character this error is.

Yeh but point I am trying to make is he STILL has an unblemished record with this, it is hardly the end of the ■■■■ world is it, despite what they are making of it.
It should have been sorted over an informal chat with his boss explaining what happened, then move on.
Not the heavy handed, over inflated way that these clowns are dealing with it.

Stop thinking like a lorry driver and start thinking like a manager. You, I and everyone else on this forum know this is a nothing event whilst management (who don’t live in the real world) see this as an almighty blight on their corporate image. It’s all about “buzzwords” now and knowing the right ones will make your life easier. Sad I know, but welcome to the 21st century.

So, a fellow driver grassed you up? WHO is doing the fact finding interview? Line manager or senior manager?
my immediate line manager , nice honest guy to be fair.
he can
let it go
issue informal warning
take it to his manager ( she`s a different animal )
The problem here is the length of time that it has taken to come to light. They should have had systems in place to see this event much sooner. Someone ■■■■■■ up in the office(after you have ■■■■■■ up on the day) and now I’m guessing they need to be “seen to do something about it”.
Just make sure that their mistake doesn’t cost you your job. This is such a non event, and to have word like serious bandied about is buggeration of ■■■■■■■■ of the highest order.
If your line manager is such a nice guy, have chat with him off the books and come to a satisfactory arrangement!

I’d fight that, that is ■■■■■■■■ if what you have said is true. Congrats on the ■■■■ extension by the way…
