I would put a pic of the Krause Scania on, but I can’t seem to upload photos using this smartphone. The site just logs me out when I try. Any ideas, anyone?

Hi Anorak,
normally this should not be a problem. Are you using the Chrome browser or a different one? I use the mobile app Tapatalk (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quoord.tapatalkpro.activity&hl=en)
Thanks Mr. S. I’ll get onto it right now.
Yes! A success for the day, thanks to poster jsutherland. Ta very much sir.
The photo shows the big Mack with it’s little mate behind. Not often an LBT141 is called little, but this is the Heavy Thread.

I’ve done some detective work regarding one of the most impressive tractor units I’ve ever seen… The mighty Titan 42.615 F 8x6 fitted with a MAN F8 cab and massive V12 engine boasting a whopping 615hp, bear in mind this beast was built in 1984…New to German haulier Krause it became part of the Grundt fleet after the merge of both companies, it eventually was sold to v.d. Vlist Romania where it certainly was earning it’s keep!
I lost track of it since v.d. Vlist closed down their Romanian operations, but apparently it was sold to a firm in Honduras and is now part of the fleet of Mamut Colombia, I’m trying to get my hands on some footage.
Thats some machine Patrick ! Like you say 615bhp was awesome back in 1984.
Looks like Faun built something similar.

Some more information on the Krause Mack:

It appears to be a one-off. Are those MAN wheelarches?
Heading for Fairymead Sugar Mill at Bundaberg, Queensland. I had two uncles emigrated to OZ(£10 poms) one in 1912 and the other 1917, they grafted and established substantial sugar cane farms, one invented a whole stalk cane cutter going on to have an assembly plant at Bundaberg, later bought out by a bigger concern.

“Edwards Moving and Rigging is one of only two firms in North America with a 110-ton Goldhofer Faktor 5 trailer, which has a payload capacity five times its tare weight. The Faktor 5 features a beam suspended over two sets of 20-axle hydraulic lift trailers that can be extended to a span of more than 150 feet, or to the length of nearly a football field. It can also be raised or lowered up to 5-1/2 feet.”

Whilst browsing the net I stumbled upon these two threads, seems the heavy haulage stuff has been on the radar before

Just goes to show that there is nothing new under the sun, Patrick, but thanks for reviving those 2 threads.
The first one I have never seen before, because, as Wheelnut alluded, it was during my long hiatus from TN.
The 2nd one was earlier, before I left, and the pictures I posted, no longer there via Image Shack, are some of those I have already re-posted here. I’ll go back and see if I can work out which were missing and re-post.
I am not sure we got an update about Tom Llewellyn, a man I had great respect and liking for, despite our professional differences during the strike. He knew that I had done my best to avoid it in the first place, and I think understood why I couldn’t finish it when he wanted me to. Perhaps someone has later info.
Also, the man who took over from him, Geoff (?), who was 2nd in command at Markfield when I worked there. A good bloke also with whom I had a chance to reminisce years later when I called in to ask if his fitters would do a minor repair on my Foden wagon and drag. He knew of my recent self-reduction from manager to driver and I think it might have been connected with Stillers, because he was pumping me about possible work for my then company, Toray. While I was there I noticed my old Daf, 222T, one of those posted earlier here, then retired and used as a yard shunter. Be glad to hear any update on Geoff and indeed any ex Markfield drivers. All good blokes.
