What is that, I imagine it must be a Scammell?
Lovely looking set-up, I think it must have been a beast to drive!
Here ya go Harry. Chain drive and all. Three quarters of a mile to a gallon of petrol.
Here’s another.
Heanor used to specialise in rolling stock.
The other Scammell 100 tonner (BLH 21) is in a shed at Rush Green Motors. She was nicknamed ‘Leaping Lena’ as she hd a tendency to lift the front end right off the ground when pulling away whilst being used as a ballast tractor.

Did anyone see the T9 “Greyhound” loco on the M5 this afternoon? The tender was being moved by an ancient ERF unit.
Nice!
Saw Thomas the Tank Engine going southbound on the M11 this afternoon - does that count? (He was on an Allely lowloader before the comments start!)

Any idea where it’s off to?
No idea, but I think it’s based on the Bluebell Railway.
Hard to believe that those locomotives are eighty years old and have been restored to as new condition.Long may they steam and well done to the folks who keep them going.
