Lets start again as obviously there’s some on here who while maybe reading the posts don’t necessarily take in what’s put.
The reason for posting the picture was to show the inhumanity of the whole sad story. Any one who has children would or should cringe at that image if they are human with a bit of decency about them.
The people who I was referring to who should take action were not truck drivers (many of whom cant help themselves) but the powers in charge everywhere.
The boat people who were wrecked of SE corner of the coast of Sicily in November 2005 were approximately 60/70 miles from my location so about 6 hours steaming after turning round and beating into a head wind and a short sharp sea which slows our ship down so maybe a bit longer. We have a piece of equipment that we have to carry called AIS (automatic identification system) whereby our ships name, flag state, course an speed, type of vessel, destination etc are regularly transmitted. Every other ship is so fitted, and it is mandatory for various classes, can see other vessels details and their position can be plotted on a chart plus we had another monitor showing all these other ships in real life format so I could see there were numerous vessels a hell of a lot closer than I. Imagine if you will the scenario, there are recognised traffic lanes that we are obliged to follow, en route from one end of the Medi to the other, those heading West keep to the North side of the ‘road’ and those heading East whether it be to the Suez area or the Bosphorus keep to the South side of it, it’s like a motorway out there but slower. There are no signs or white lines but GPS take care of the positioning. Take a look at Marine Traffic and zoom in on the Medi to see exactly what I mean.
In conclusion the attitude and comments some have taken about the pic I posted is nothing short of disgusting and I make no apologies when I say I feel ashamed to think I was once one of you. But not one who sat in a RDC spouting bollux all day !

So are you saying we must remove the possibility of such inevitable incidents by saying that the entire population of wherever can/should/must all be provided with free transport and re settlement here ?.
Or let’s remove the attraction by saying that we think that Middle Eastern/African population movement should be kept in the Middle East/Africa and anyone arriving here or rescued from the Med will be returned to the Middle East/Africa.Bearing in mind that most of the Middle East and Africa is safe enough by the standards of that society and more in keeping with their own culture and a lot richer in terms of resources like land space than we are.
On that note our society has got where it is through our own efforts and we don’t owe the rest of the world a living.Especially when there are far better suited places in the regions in question.IE ‘if’ it’s really a question of ‘refuge’ then there are far better options available without subjecting Europe to a massive concerted Asian and African population shift.While if it’s a question of economic migration the same applies.They’ll have to sort their own societies out by their own efforts in their own place.

Why don’t you just answer the question.What is it that you want done to solve the problem.
Do you want mass population movement which swamps us amongst other ‘issues’ in which at worse we become economically disadvantaged foreigners in our own country.Or at best it gets turned into an over crowded zb hole with a high proportion of alienated,unpredictable,often hostile cultures,of the type which makes their own societies untenable.
Or tell them that they’ll have to sort themselves out and help each other in their own place.With repatriation being an essential component in that.Thereby removing the attraction of if they make it or get rescued from the water their chances of being allowed to stay increase.

It’s probably the same as the Socialist/cheap labour Con alliance idea of democracy.On that basis they’ve ignored and binned at least 700,000 signatures.
Proving its yet another thing you know f all about but are willing to make up “facts” to suit. Face it you’re in the minority again, a position you, like your current fave Lord Nigel, must be getting used to by now. That said, where is the swivel eyed loon these days? These immigrants are doing their level best for him yet he keeps his turtles head firmly tucked away. Probably a bit out of his depth as he has zero ideas on how to proceed now that people from outside Europe are coming.
I see it as if we let them in, who’s to say there aren’t wannabe terrorists amongst them? We couldn’t tell, unless we only let in people who haven’t destroyed official documents.
Maybe cherry picking them is the answer? Let in doctors, nurses, teachers but no religious professors, preachers etc. We can’t take them all so let’s have those who are useful, not supermarket car washers, street “performers” (term used loosely) and take away staff.

Apparently as is so often the case with these types of pictures and stories all is not what it seems. The family had been living in Turkey for the last three years without to many problems until the father decided that he would be better off getting his teeth fixed in Europe rather than trusting the Turkish dentists. Don’t know how to do links but it is on sky news sure the BBC will cover it as an after thought on a bulletin at about 2 in the morning. The father should be shot for what he has done never mind given sympathy and asylum.

Have you thought about the possibility that,in addition to/because of being subjected to the dodgy Socialist/cheap labour alliance idea of 'democracy, ‘our’ side is losing interest in the zb country and just saying get on with it and finish the job of turning it into the type of zb hole that the immigrants are either running from or trying to expand.

Blimey and to think in our utopian society I’ve got rid of at least two teeth because it was cheaper ( and less painful ) than getting them fixed.
Last night their was a segment on this lot from Hungry or something and the reporter sensationalised that a man woman and child had fallen to the rail tracks . Utter bull you quite clearly see the guy pull his wife and child to the ground .
Another was a guy being detained and the reporter again used the words " the man was being wrestled to the ground " no the guy just sat down and plod took hold of him to pick him up …
The whole reporting was a joke.
The people have to be processed and they didn’t want to be. Well tough if you don’t wanna play by the rules then go away. We need to check the identity of people as we really don’t want crimes slipping through and they need documents so yes come but play by the rules … Each person needs medical screening etc after all we don’t want some nasty bug coming through do we …
