May have the same Effect

Sorry, thought someone said summat.

Nothing here, it’s only Dozy again

Glasses/eyesight and mobility/strength issues in some circumstances Dozy , but not hearing . If they start doing an intelligence test to get a licence then there will be a real driver shortage !

I doubt Dozy will be needing this anytime soon

That’s a thought…We could have a drivers mastermind competition with an entry fee and prizes for winners and the profits to a charity.
Driving questions and a specialist subject on anything you like. Could be fun.
who is up for a laugh.

We’ll stage the event at the next TNUK Xmas bash

My money is on Carryfast. Specialist subject…Everything.

ID imagine itwould be like a battle of wits…between unarmed opponents.
I almost made it to get picked for mastermind, but they wouldn’t llow my choice of specialised subject which was…holidays ive been on and liked.

I turned up for my interview but was swiftly given the bums rush.
Apparently felching throughout the ages is an unsuitable specialist subject.

Unless Google are on strike that day of course!! Seriously though, we did have a driver who failed his medical on hearing (he wouldn’t wear an aid) plus his BP was a little high, I actually got his job. That was back in 1983 though and he wasn’t far off of retirement anyway, rules may be more relaxed now?

Pete.

Strange isn’t it doesn’t matter what affliction you’ve got you get sympathy unless your deaf, then every one takes the pee, at least I think they did  . That’s the problem I couldn’t be sure   . But I’ve got a hearing aid now care off the NHS and nobody mentioned telling the DVLA.

Yeah I’ve developed bad hearing and according to the lughole man it’s from noisy engines and driving with the window open (right ear’s worst). Anyway, I can live with the ■■■■ taking cos it’s all done in good humour and I dish it out as well, but it gets really difficult when there’s background noise like people speaking. Watching tele’ with the different volumes and bleeding background music out doing the dialogue is a pain in the aris ! But looking on the bright side, when the wife asks me to do something I don’t fancy, I just ■■■■ a deafun.

Wearing earing aids drives me nuts, so they ain’t often used.

Pete
I have suffered all of the above, including the selective hearing bit. My left ear is the worst and I have tinnitus in that ear as well which doesn’t help. I have one of the NHS over the ear aids but don’t like it at all as I wear glasses it gets in the way. Was thinking of buying one of the aids that fit in your ear on line from “Hearing direct” but don’t know what they are like. Anybody used the company?
One plus is that the hearing aid actually reduces the Tinnitus.
