I have an assessment this week with HC, anyone else been on one yet for them and have any pointers?
3 guys from my work have had or have got interviews this week and I know of 2 guys from Turners who are in the same boat. From what I hear, the guy doing the interview if a very decent guy.
good luck mate, just a safe drive will be fine
Judging by the halfwit that overtook me on the way into London this morning. Driving skills not required.

Yeh the guy is sound. Safe safe safe is the key.
I phoned up today and they say they have had a lot of interest with the office jobs and are working there way through them. so fingers crossed I will hear something soon.
good luck with your assessment.

Cheers. Fingers crossed and all the best for yourself. If its anything like the response they got for drivers then theyll be snowed under.

I’ve done one. Usual stuff, daily checks, check trailer, couple up, go a drive, mine was a mix of motorway, town and country road, reverse, drop trailer.
If you’re safe you’ve nothing to worry about, dead relaxed.
A.
Cheers buddy. I think when anyone tells you “assessment” you automatically have a wee panic to yourself. Safety all the way then.
I wonder how many of the drivers who got this job, expecting to get to drive a fancy Volvo FH, are gutted to find that they have got a load of hired axors and Renault premiums from Gulliver’s to do this contract.[emoji22]

And the problem is ?.
a truck is a truck so long as the money is in the bank at the end of the week.

Think I’d take a nice shiny VolvoFH over an Axor though!!!
the B & M contract has now been up and running for a month, 27 new drivers have been taken on so far with the rest to follow at 3 new drivers every 1/2 weeks until they reach the 50 quota. the job involves delivering to and collecting waste from stores all over the UK. Also straight trunking from the Speke warehouse to Lesmahagow. of the 21 new scanias ordered for this work, 13 are currently on the job so the hired trucks will disappear as the new ones arrive. I done 2 subbie loads last week to speke and back and was in and out of the place within half an hour both times double decked and it was a doddle. seems to be a good job “only time will tell”
do you know if all the office staff have been hired.
I put a application form in but not heard anything back so had given up but if there are still drivers to be taken on then maybe I shouldn’t have.

I remember a chat I had with a B&M driver, I was delivering to a home bargains store and their was 2 or 3 B&M motors nighting out in the service yard. I’m banging away doing the delivery at about 3am, tail lift “Beep Beep” all the way down and must have woke this guy up, he got out for a ■■■ and I asked him “Why do you guys sleep here knowing we will be in here through the night, every night?” he says “They won’t pay for parking at services!!!”Might have changed now… Was he spending the night in Stirling?
HC drivers are on £25 or £27.50 a night out, plus if they’re in services and get a receipt, it’s claimed/paid for over and above the £25/27.50.

You are replying to a year old post, but if you are saying that they get parking paid on top of night out money that is how is is everywhere i have ever worked night out money is for sleeping in the cab not to pay for parking
