Muckaway:
I don’t understand split daily rests, and the setting on a digitach for ferry crossings. I also don’t need to to do my job.

i know exactly where you’re coming from.
there are a lot of aspects to your job that a night trunker dosn’t need to know.
if you changed jobs to say european fridge work, then i’m sure you’d find out everything you needed to know about fridges, split daily rests, european tolls etc.
a bin lorry driver dosn’t work to eu regs, but he needs a dcpc to drive 60kms per day round his local streets. :unamused:
and i’m sure they’ll fill his head full of info regarding ferry movements just to fill up his 7 hours for the day.

How about a cpc course in keeping your job while sticking to 40mph on long stretches of single carrageway. "Your where, christ is that as far as you’ve got, says “fully qualified TM”.

CPC? The best thing that ever happened to me. It was the straw that finally broke the camels back. It made me decide to pack the poxy job in , emigrate and do something with my life instead of working all hours god sends in a job that is so bad for your health. Some folks love it but the enjoyment went a long time ago for me. Everyone should pack it in for just 1 day, all on the same day, they may appreciate the hard work you lads do then. Sadly it wont happen. Stay Safe.

The DCPC, was talked about 3 + yrs ago when i stopped driving through ill health… now im nearly back on track to start back but only wanted part time, the medical and now cpc is going to cost me around 500 quid… just to keep my hand in and , wots all this b…x about grandfather rights for cpc ■■? you still have to pay and for what ? 28 yrs experience stands for jack s…t, i think i will consider if its worth my while even to work part time. :open_mouth:
