Would love to know what the offer is Peter. Can you elaborate a little?
Peter Smythe:
Yes, they are w+d. My reasons for this are more than a little well documented! The test centre was the first private centre in the UK - open 5 years this coming April. We share the site with a bus company which is why you see so many blue and green buses. But the testing area is in front of our parking area. At certain times, we have no problem with the bus company parking on the area - eg overnight.
There’s a fair few people on here who have used it so they can vouch for it!
If you have read some of Peter post you will know as he has said it many times that the test station in on site 1 of only 7 in the country
That refers to DSA Accredited LGV Training Centre which isn’t related to the Customer Site driving test centre. Bit of crossed wires there!. No harm done.
Hope this helps, Pete

That makes alot of sense! And yes there are green and blue busses everywhere in the images
Thanks for clearing that up
Tarrman:
Peter do you only have wagon & drag or do you have artics aswell? Just doing a little bit of research into your location via Google street view and can see what appears to be 2 wag&drag outfits and possibly an artic, amongst lots of blue busses! Also is the test centre on site or at a different location?
Thanks in advance
Pete has trained a few of us on here in his WnD outfit and he is a great trainer. His vehicles are well maintained and the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. He has a fantastic aproach to his training and I would not hesitate to recommend his training school to anyone.
He used to have an Artic Unit and trailer (The trailer was still there parked up when I took my test), but most people wanted the WnD outfit for their training.
Just done a quick tot up and, by Wednesday this week, we’ll have sent out a staggering £17,000 in vouchers!
Thanks to Trucknet users for the interest; I hope this will help kick-start careers and give folk a bit a head start for 2013.
The offer still stands until midnight tonight so get your mates registered on TNUK and they, too, can take advantage of the vouchers.
Happy New Year to All, Pete

Wow £17,000 is a lot!!
Something tells me you’ll be busy this year
wow!!, just come home to a very pleasant surprise through the letter box, I did read it right. …did I?
There’s no spot in the middle! !
Thank you very much Peter
You, and everybody else, are very welcome.
See you whenever your’e ready, Pete
Rekon I’ll be in touch in the not too distant future Thanks again Peter
Dear Pete,
Wow, wow, wow, I got the gift this morning from the postman. Like Bonnie Lass I thought this amount would have been realistically 10 times smaller!
That’s amazing and thank you so, so much.
Last year in a PM to you, same kind of time of year to be honest. I asked to come up for a paid assessment for half a day on Saturday. I am still going to do this first, as I need your trainer’s opinion of what I am realistically capable of whilst trying to get behind the wheel of a wag and drag.
And now that I have a regular Saturday driving stint on the agency. There’s no excuse not to do our personally agreed paid assessment drive and also book the proper course this year. Like my wife said tonight I would be incredibly stupid to look this offer and gift horse in the mouth!
So I’m in for a penny and definitely a pound. I’m clearing my debts quickly now, so there’s no reason why I shouldn’t accelerate my training instead for a little while when an offer comes along like this only once in a lifetime.
Thank you so much again.
I’m going to PM you tomorrow morning about a suitable date in Feb or March when I can come up for the assessment drive and then book the course on what your trainer believes I am actually capable of. If that is ok?
Kind Regards
Constantine
Looks like your voucher has gone down a storm Pete. Let’s hope it converts to courses booked.

Well I’ve started it off for myself, can’t speak for others.
Pete’s agreed to let me loose with a W+D on a 4 hour paid assessment on 4th February 2013. “My choice entirely and specification for me personally NOT a stipulation of Pete’s to avoid any confusion”
From that, hopefully we can see how bad my driving is now, after trudging along in a rigid on my own all these years during the weekends. Wonder how many bad habits I truly have to unlearn now!
After the assessment in Feb hopefully we’ll know:
a) If Pete will allow me behind the wheel of one of his lorries ever again and
b) How many days I need to be able to reach test standard.
Then depending on the holiday dates being given by my company I will be doing the full course sometime between August and October 2013.
So that’s one voucher fully converted. Not sure how many have converted before me though…only Pete can answer that one I’m afraid.

*Edit to clear up any confusion why I am doing a paid assessment rather than a free assessment.
How much is the paid assessment, and does the cost of training differ according to how many days I might need?
I was not aware of any cost to the assessment at PSTT unless things have changed recently.
And yes the cost will differ dependent upon hours needed unless you take the Pass Protection option.

The normal, short, assessment is free. That’s little more than a ride round the block just to make sure that all will be well. Sometimes, folk want to have a much longer assessment; this is more of an initial lesson. 4 hours is £300 incl.
Hope this helps, Pete
Sorry Pete,
Should have explained that clearer to people on here about what I had personally done and not what Pete usually does. This paid assessment was my own express wish, no-one else’s but mine
I want to see what I am truly capable of in 4 hours. I’d rather know now I was zb at driving with a drag on the back and know what I would truly have to do to pass.

This is why I am doing what I am doing rather than do a freebie and have to go back twice without knowing that’s what I had to save up to learn properly originially because of my lack of skills.
P.S That’s what happened on my Class 2 a long while ago.
Not saying that is the right thing for everyone, I’ve just managed to save up for it and its what I want to do to put my head on straight and my learning demons to rest before the pre-test nerves even give me a kick-in!

Pete,
Can I hijack a thread for a incredibly short time. You don’t know of any moffett trainers do you near you who are any good. Got a few names I can PM to you if you’ve heard of them and know of them?

£300 for 4 hours! Is that the most expensive in the country?

Possibly. I have never worked down to a price - always worked to top quality and charged accordingly. Price is not just cost - it’s value. And many regular contributors on here have been very happy to pay for that.
There will always be those who choose on price - sadly I wont see them. But others will be happy to take their money.
Regards, Pete

Sorry, not a subject I’m up on. Pete
