Happy christmas - and a little gift

Peter Smythe:

£300 for 4 hours! Is that the most expensive in the country?

Possibly. I have never worked down to a price - always worked to top quality and charged accordingly. Price is not just cost - it’s value. And many regular contributors on here have been very happy to pay for that.

There will always be those who choose on price - sadly I wont see them. But others will be happy to take their money.

Regards, Pete

Very well put !

I do share your views on price. It is a shame that so many trainers try and undercut each other which at the end of the day effects the quality of the training they can deliver. The brokers offer less training just to make them look cheap. Can the average person really get medical, theories, cat c and c+e for £2000?

Don’t know about a possibilty £2k all in. Tried a broker once for my first Class 2 test, what a waste of money and time that was!

£75 an hour isn’t bad in the grand scheme of thing. As that has too include vehicle depreciation, my wear and tear on the lorry as a whole, diesel, pete’s profit, overheads of his office, taxes includes VAT, his other staff wages, pension, NI, pete’s new vehicle saving fund, insurances as a whole of which there is more than just for the road etc etc.

My boss charges me out at £800 a day (from a 4 - 10 hour day) as a stick measuring person when on site. Damatically drops when I return to the office and I only see £90 of that gross. That I view as a pee take on hourly rate for what we do for the customer. I have a basic understanding of where most of that day rate goes, but not all of it still!

When I heard what it was I didn’t think it was that bad. I bet you wouldn’t get a lady of the night or a solicitor or even an accountant charging less than pete per hour! :open_mouth: I say them three as they seem to zb everyone while getting paid for it  Whereas Pete and other trainers are helping us to better ourselves.

Hey Pete,

Was going to do a small account of the “glorious” assessment we did together if that is alright and with your permission?

Discussed it over with the wife before we left, not too bad a day, I reckon and counted 15 serious tick boxes that I remembered and numerous minors all making the critical “ticks make no prizes”!!!

Thank you again for taking the time to take me out and inform me of the bad habits I had picked up, some I hadn’t even known I was doing :open_mouth: and giving me the knowledge and time to make sure I knew what was expected of me to get to test standard!

No problem.

See you soon, Pete

Just like to say a big thank-you to Peter for his very generous Christmas gift of a discount voucher to be used against training. I used this last week to do my Cat C training (which I passed) . I found all the staff very friendly and approachable but still very professional, the training and facilities are excellent, and with the free accommodation saved me a 5 hour commute everyday!!! I would also like to thank Chris my instructor for his patience and wisdom without which I doubt I would have passed with only 2 minors. So for anyone looking for training I can highly recommend Peter Smythe Transport Training.

is this offer still open? if so i’ll forward my details currently doing my i class c but whilst in “training mode” i’ll like to upgrade! drop me a PM PLEASE PETER
