Handing in Keys

Thanks guys…
I have done Lidl in that bombhole known as Brimsdown/Tottenham, whatever you want to call it…How I luaghed when they expected me to tip my own load
I just told them that I had not been trained to use those electric fork things and therefore could not be responsible for any damage to their premises, the load, the truck or myself and would have to seek legal advice regarding unloading…They unloaded me pretty sharpish  Rules are there to be used against them :sunglasses:

I forsee an interesting time ahead :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t do what i did last year on the hottest day of the year’ i left my windows down, handed keys in went back in truck for a snooze only to be woken by the worst thunder storm i had seen for ages.
Electric windows would not go up without the ignition on. :open_mouth:

Just carry a spare or hand in your car keys.

x 2

never hand in your cars keys. cause the chances are one day you will get back to your yard and have no car keys.

wether its an urban legend or not i dont know but ive heard the story of the driver who done this. he phoned said rdc, told them what he had done and that he was coming to collect them . rdc not happy, posted them to his company second class.

If you do hand in your car keys don’t forget them!

I have always known it as Lidl Enfield and I have never known them to unload a lorry themselves.

Well, yer not going to believe this either…I did not queue with the other drivers :stuck_out_tongue: I asked to see a manager and got on a bay immediately :sunglasses: There was no way in this world that I was going to wait for several minutes/hours behind loads of other drivers for just 3 pallets…Why would you■■?

I VERY nearly did that once. I was just about to leave site and then realised that they still had the “wagon” keys. :open_mouth: Could have been quite embarrassing trying to explain that one later… :open_mouth:

Not worth the effort.

Why do certain drivers feel the need to post bollox stories on here?

Coz they are not currently at an RDC.

I trust this clarifies matters.

Anyway, did I ever tell you about the time I had my wheels chalked at a Tes…

place i used to work, we had a polish driver hand over his car keys…not sure how close to Warsaw he got before he remembered, but it was a week before he could get back to claim them!

Q…why do keys need to be handed over in the first place?
A…rick yemm types that cant be trusted!
I think this clarifies matters to the point!

That’s also what I do, but, as others have said, DO NOT FORGET THEM.

But, I do it because I’m a tramper, there’s a lot of expensive stuff in my truck and if I go for a pee, I want it locked for security.

Also, my 12v only works with ignition on 1 and that powers my lappy, will only last around 2hrs on battery, it’s just not damned long enough.

Because this is the internet and thats what drivers do , bar maybe 20 % of people on "drivers " forums.

So they changed the system just for you

I have no idea what their system is, I had three pallets of lamps and another 6 or 7 bdeliveries to do that day, I explained this to the wench who seemed a bit dim, so then I asked for the manager as I had to be on my way. He came over. looked at my notes and asked me to go on the bay where they get rid of all the rubbish from…Ethnic chap pointed to the leccy pump thing, I said, as stated previously, and he got the pallets off for me…If this is believed as some kind of miracle, then some of you need to get out more!

I just don`t get all this “Is he talking bollox”…Not only is it insulting, it is also the reason why I have little patience and no time for other people, they entirely base the percieved experiences of others on their own…Just how narrow minded and blinkered is that?

THanks to the guys for the heads up though and the help.

I am gone from here, it is not a pleasant place to be if you are an adult, fine if you are under the age of nine though I guess.
