This is sad anytime of year,i now a guy broke his leg in weston -super mare in hand car wash he was an illegal aswell…
I don’t know about the other incident you refer to but the person in the story you link to wasn’t ‘an illegal’.
Albanian Muja, who was granted asylum after moving to Britain in 2003…
I guess you don’t want the facts to get in the way of a good bashing opportunity eh?
how can you kill someone and get a suspended sentence?
disgraceful no matter where he was origianlly from.

be careful what you wish for, I assume you drive a large vehicle and occasionally reverse?

Because there is NO justice in our criminal justice system!!
when i worked in the quarries a driver reversed over and killed a banksman who’d dropped his torch a tragic accident

Reading the article it sounds like just a tragic accident. Yes,he had no license. But it does not sound like he was reckless or acting the goat. Not a prison sentence anyway.
quote…The court heard he had left his wife and two-year-old child in Albania and sent them money every month…The court heard that the car wash firm had no insurance policy for employees to drive customer vehicles …
Afterwards, upset daughter-in-law Mrs Fields said: “I would have expected him to have been given a prison sentence and not suspended.
He deserved to go to prison for what he did but I suppose we just have to accept it. It seems he paid just a small price for the immense harm he has caused.”
says it all…can you imagine the crucifixion that would have followed if it was the flipflop that had been killed by the english guy?
Am I the only one who thinks it was just a freak accident.
There but for the grace of god go I…

Of course it was. These things occasionally happen, and always will.
The nationality of the participants has got nothing whatever to do with anything.

+1 I’m sure many of these posters would take a different view if it had been somebody driving a truck.
Though I do think his brother who owned the car wash should be prosecuted as there seem many failing in the way he was running the site.
no licence he shoudlnt have been driving so its not really just an accident is it? it was preventable by not driving something you have no training to do.
yes its unfortunate but if it was one of your family i doubt you would be saying a small fine and suspended sentence was ok.
Albania is in the process of joining the EU.
We are supposed to have an EU-wide system of standards of justice and democracy.
So why do Albanians get asylum in the UK?

Doesn’t seem like he was on public roads so wouldn’t necessarily have needed a licence. Did you never drive something on private land before you had a licence? I know I did and I know countless others who did the same. Both my kids had a drive of my car on private land long before they had, or were old enough to hold, a licence. I would bet there are numerous members who were driving tractors and other vehicles on farms as soon as they were old enough to reach the pedals.
He’s probably moved vehicles in the car wash hundreds of times and tragically it went wrong once.
That bin truck driver has no doubt driven round George Square in Glasgow many times without incident until yesterday when it sadly went wrong for whatever reason. No that there’ll be an outpouring of vitriol if it turns out he doesnt have a ‘British’ name.

what does the nationality matter? i have never said he should be locked up because he is albanian?
there is a huge difference between moving a car round a bit of scrubland to driving cars on a carwash forecourt.
but hey ho i guess if it was one of you family members you would just say never mind it was an accident, i am not saying lock him up for life but the punishment does not fit the crime to me. (bit like all these little scrotes who nick cars kill people and end up with slapped wrists).
If the public were present then he needs a licence and insurance to drive…it doesn’t matter who owns the land, it’s who has access to it that counts.

Yes I agree, but many on here started their truck driving career moving truck round yards on a Saturday after washing them. And I’ve let the lads I’ve let lads where I’ve worked with have a go at maneuvering trucks, under supervision,
Yes a bit dodgy, but if it went wrong it should be me who carry’s the can not the lad, but I do it because I think it gives them a chance to see the what the visibility is round a truck and perhaps have more appreciation of them when they drive a car.

If it was my family member I doubt I would think any punishment would fit the crime, but that not the way it works in this country, revenge and blood money are parts of Sharia law.

Very different to those little scrotes, this guy was at work and made a mistake that cost a guy his life, they’re little scrotes who are driving recklessly.

I might not like it but the fact is it was an accident, he didn’t set out to kill someone or was even behaving in a manner likely too. It was an accident.

Not even close to being the same thing.
ok will agree to disagree then as the arguement is obviously pointless.
