Hanbury Riverside

i thought you had a riverside truck at fleetwood.

He had a few, Fleetwood long gone now tho. Just looking for more opinions, he was always fine with them.

Still not decided tho, think I could get the same for less elsewhere.

My opinion for what its worth is that id buy new before buying from there, youd be paying 5k+ into nowhere, and id never do business with a man that spends more than £10 on a haircut.

Here’s a link to an '07 Actros with 300k on the clock. It’s not a mega but does come from a good home here in Ireland, remember your pound is worth €1.22 over here
firstchoicecommercials.ie/eq … runits.htm

It’s the ex Oran precast one on page 2,good luck.

Looks good, can’t see a price on it though, probably just looking in the wrong place

You need to call them for the price, they don’t usually put it up on the www.

This looks cheap to me at £22,750, 08-reg, 650,000km, any thoughts?

I have never bought a lorry from Hanbury or Riverside, but would trust what NMM says, the vehicles are split mint and come with all the bells and whistles.

I wouldn’t want one from Maritime because some of those deals just look ridiculous.

the trucks/spec are pretty much the same from Maritime and Hanbury, the main difference is, Maritime offer a buy with work scheme, Hanbury don’t

although, the Maritime deal isn’t worth the paper it is written on

Totally agree truck and price wise they are both about the same.

The other option if you are looking at them type of prices is look at Volvo approved used trucks.

A v good friend of mine was in the process of buying one from the said people crackIng deal thy offered him 7 grand px on his old moter realistically worth bt 4 on a 58 plate fh 480 with 500 tho on the clock , the price was 39000.00 minus his px said truck was pretty tidy aswell n came with 12 month driveline warrenty

I’d guess riverside would be that kind of price and you still only get 3 months driveline.

Yes, HR are not cheap. I still have a month or so to decide what to get and where to get it from, but looking at this for example, at Walker Movements…

walkermovements.co.uk/spec_s … nitID=6769

is up at £27,750 and HR have quoted me £42,000 for same age and mileage.

Decisions, decisions…

Out of interest, anyone know where that is from? I’m guessing maybe Mortimer’s?

Yes I agree, looks like eat more chips.

Not enough diesel capacity for mortimers. That’s why theirs are mostly tag axles.

weren’t Mortimers tag axles?

I don’t think so, if I’m not mistaken Mortimers only had a couple of RHD trucks & all of their units had monster tanks. Suttons had a few FH’s in blue & a few in red on tank containers so could be one of theirs as it looks like a similar shade of blue.

Ross.

Yep, suppose that’s logical, I’ve only ever seen them in red but a quick Google has found a Suttons FH in a similar blue.

If it is a Suttons wagon is it likely to have been looked after etc?

Most definately, thay are a big ADR carrier and pride themselves on being 100% complient, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one of their old trucks. Not overworked for sure & definately well maintained.

15k is a big difference. Even if you spend a few quid on bits and bobs and any cosmetics your still well infront.

Knights of old… Mine is from hr, and ive not had problems yet, plus we had about 12 other from them, all 57 and 08 plates, all been fine so far…

That is my way of thinking, 15k is a hell of a difference, certainly enough to pay for the most enormous run of bad luck…

Both the Volvo and daf are from Owens of LLanelli, check out the starship mileage !

Yes, they have 650,000- 800,000 km on them which is above average for a 58 reg although I’ve driven plenty of Volvos with that mileage on them in the past as an employee and none of them have been problematic.

Assuming they are ex-Owens, I presume they have been reasonably well looked after in terms of servicing and repairs etc?

I’m sure they will have been double shifted and I wouldn’t expect them to be well cared for inside but that wouldn’t be a major factor in the buying decision.
