Has anyone ever bought a used truck from Hanbury Riverside, and if so are they reasonable people to deal with?
not personally, but i know people who have bought from them, all said they were good lads and did as much as they could to help

What position are you in at the moment with your O licence application mate?

It’s in the current South-East and Metropolitan A’s and D’s which was published on 19th April which gives statutory bodies until 10th May to object.
I’ve had no environmental objections to the newspaper notice.
I’m hoping the licence will be granted towards the end of May.
you dont want to be going out spending 40k + at hanbury on your first truck in this climate
I know Lee Smith, who was Riverside before Handbury came along, a real nice bloke and amazingly in that world, he’s as honest as the day is long, you won’t get turned over by them, but they are at the higher end of things, probably the highest end used truck dealer in the country, and as a result you won’t get out of there without a complete emptying of your wallet, you’ll get a lot of lorry though
A bloke I know swears by them but as nmm says they are top dollar but all mint.

Good luck with it mate,I know how frustrating it can be waiting for it to come through!

I appreciate what you are saying but I have done the maths, I am not going into this because I have some fantasy about driving a top-of-the-range Scania with a cheesy bird airbrushed on the sides pulling boxes out of Felixstowe for a quid a mile.
I do know that buying a truck from Hanbury won’t be as cheap as buying one from Fleetex etc but I am inclined to think I would be buying a more reliable vehicle.

you will be buying a lower mileage vehicle, but, the two trucks i have bought from Fleetex have been reliable, more-so than trucks i have bought from main dealers
Never bought a Truck from them, but have spoken with them quite a few times- always come across as straight and genuine, you may pay top dollar with them but you get what you pay for - service and honesty- and sometimes thats worth that few quid more

These two things count for a lot!

For a small haulier that can be all the difference
Harry i have had 4 trucks from this company in the last 5 years 2 of them have given me major problems and both times i feel let down by said company very much.In my case they didn’t do what they claim to and that is why i will not return to them for any more trucks.Maybe you would be better off going to the same place as shuttle.
P.s this is only my honest experiance of them.
I couldn’t fault the deal but after sales for me was not good.started well ended bad both times.
Not too many bargains to be had there Harry, your going to blow a clean fortune on this truck
You must have moved up to the “higher” end of your budget by now, you sure the “rose tinted glasses” are not clouding your judgement somewhat
Have you tried phoning round some small local hauliers running the type of tidy 6x2 tackle your looking
Bet in this climate ALOT of them are thinking of downszing and a man arriving in their yard with a “skyrocket” full of ready cash for one of their trucks is the stuff of dreams for them
This well known NI outfit run a fleet of Actros/Highline/Globbies that are well looked after and upgraded often:

I have never bought a lorry from Hanbury or Riverside, but would trust what NMM says, the vehicles are split mint and come with all the bells and whistles.
I wouldn’t want one from Maritime because some of those deals just look ridiculous.

the trucks/spec are pretty much the same from Maritime and Hanbury, the main difference is, Maritime offer a buy with work scheme, Hanbury don’t
although, the Maritime deal isn’t worth the paper it is written on
i thought you had a riverside truck at fleetwood.

He had a few, Fleetwood long gone now tho. Just looking for more opinions, he was always fine with them.
Still not decided tho, think I could get the same for less elsewhere.

My opinion for what its worth is that id buy new before buying from there, youd be paying 5k+ into nowhere, and id never do business with a man that spends more than £10 on a haircut.
