H.g.brown & son international trucking

Awsome to see some of the old Brownies motors, My dad Alan Waite (Gussy) worked for John through the 70’s till he finished in the 80s. My farther in law Derek Baughen & his brother Stan also drove for Browns. appy days

Hi Gussy,
I remember your dad Alan from the mid seventies when I was an owner driver and did some subbing to Browns although JB had offered me a job previous to me buying a truck ( I turned it down as I was working for another local international firm JMM International from Buckingham, a bad move as the company folded soon after). I knew your father in law Derek Baughn and his brother Stan who also worked at JMM from long before I had an HGV as I used to live in the next village Grendon Underwood. Give them my regards when you see them please as I now live in the USA. Does Stan still have the pub at Newton Purcell?
Regards Charlie Gethin

Hi Charlie

All the old fella’s are still about however Stan’s not so well at the moment.
Stan still lives at the pub but its a private house now as the pub wasn’t doing well. Dad & Derek have both retired but Stan’s still doing a bit of driving when he can.
I’ll pass on your regards, thanks.

Regards

Gussy

The last we heard, Roy Jackman was living with Tiny Lee’s wife in Towcester that was about August 2011.
My mum was married to him (Margaret Jackman)
She used to go regularly with him in the70s
I worked as an apprentice in the workshop at Stanbridge Rd from 1979 with Milley and Fred

My Mum has got some photos of the trucks in the 70s, and some of Tiny Lee’s so I
will post them if anyone is interested.

Darryl.
