There was a small haulier in my area who was still using dropside trailers with ergo AECs on china clay from Cornwall to Middlesborough in the 1970s.
TIDDERSON:
This was the first Warrior I saw. Looked very flash compared to the Comets and Chieftains! Is it true they had trouble with the screens falling out?
Quite likely, the BMC FFK models had that trouble until metal tabs were riveted top and bottom to hold them in. The wraparound screen was the problem. Funny how they never fell out on factory road testing?
Pete.
I remember those metal tabs- I often wondered why they were necessary.
I wonder if anyone can help (maybe Saviem). I am looking for an advert for Guy trucks. It was featured as a full page advert in one of the truck mags. The tractor unit was painted silver and bright green. It was a sleeper cab. Any help please.
I remember the advert, bubbleman is your best bet, send him a PM or look through the scrapbook memories thread.

Hi, aspirate, Scrapbook Memories is on this page. If you click on the title you may have to go back quite a few pages to find what you’re looking for.

Hiya,
Larry lets not be too hasty here writing the “blend” off maybe we could do a swap
half a dozen bottles of “muck” for one bottle of “nectar” then at least we wouldn’t
need to cart the lot away a 7.5 tonner should do the job, you and I could just be
about able to do a “Dennis Standard” sheeting and roping job between us, Eh’.
thanks harry, long retired.
