Guy Martin In India

Our Guy In India, on channel 4 now, well certainly not all about bikes, the truck in him is out in an indian truck repair yard, looks like could be a series well worth watchin, he is one down to earth bloke.

Wooden cabs, changing split rim wheels tyres with a sledgehammer in flip flops.

Its just like Wigan.

Makes ya realise how easy we have it here, and drivers still find something to moan about. :smiling_imp:

Wise words mate.

I doa bit of paragliding ,dont know how he managed to nod off while airborne.Lets us know how lucky we are to be BritishHis train was a good few hours late ,no boots no hi vis just keep smiling and get on with it.

a sleeper birth for a was it 5hr journey costing a princely sum of £2 :open_mouth: and all that packing and padding around the bike for a whoopping 20p …

I really like his programs down to earth no nonsense and he say’s it as he see’s it

Having travelled around on the Indian train network, I can testify its a sight to behold. Efficient organised chaos. Though if using a sleeper, its best to book a bottom bunk, so you can lift up the seat & stash your luggage underneath, then you can sleep on top knowing that its unlikely that your gonna get robbed. The bars on the windows of the carriages are there for a good reason, as I found out when kids where throwing rocks at the train and a rock the size of a brick bounced off the bars as I looked out the window.

Top bloke and a very interesting program from a fascinating country.

Just watched it, like Guy and his attitude, but don’t see any attraction at all to India

I suppose it depends in what part your going to and whether your visiting or going to stay / retire there. That tea plantation looked nice lush green with the mountains nearby.

I think it’s his program all about speed. The other week he was racing in the states and the week before he was on a side by side tandem.

Don’t know much about him, but isn’t he a fitter for some transport firm in Lancs?
I saw his programme about the Spitfire, that was good.

Thatz a different show altogether, this India one is just 2 episodes of him , well, travelling round India, in the second episode he ends up in some crazy Indian motorbike race, looks mental

Btw his autobiography is well worth a read as well, its written just as he talks, no nonsense straight to the point

Good watch.

Best bloke on the box bar none - quite refreshing on the TV as he says it just how it is!

Motorbike racer and rider, HGV mechanic and Tea drinker - top combination in my book!!!
