Guy Martin In India

9pm again tonight, best viewing on the box. A real character similar to Fred Dibnah, only a tad faster.

Good old Fred “did ya like that!” Dibnah, another one of my heros, had to pay homage last year when in bolton, would of been rude not to.

Half way through his book, very good :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Just watched it, like Guy and his attitude, but don’t see any attraction at all to India

Its an amazing country, disorganized chaos in the cities and big towns, but generally lovely people.
Would happily live there.

I suppose it depends in what part your going to and whether your visiting or going to stay / retire there. That tea plantation looked nice lush green with the mountains nearby.

I had 2 weeks there about 6 months ago,
I really is amazing,
A land of contrasts - a must see

the trucks are worked hard, no H&S, repairs done on the main carriageway, not just on the verge, and run at night with no lights, but it all works

Top drawer program. Guy Martin is a top bloke with a great personality, he takes everything in his stride, and is a real character featuring some fascinating places. Lets have some more of his travels on TV.

There may be another to follow hopefully.
At the end of the program 2 , he was locking the bike in a storage unit and saying he hoped to ride it home to Blighty ,
more to come yet we hopes .
Top bloke,
speaks from the heart and tells it how it is, as it should be - no nonsense no bullpoop.

Nothing to do with me, but there’s an interview with him in the current issue of Motor Cycle News…on sale until Wednesday next. He talks a bit about making the series, and what he does when he’s not working on trucks, racing motorcycles or doing stuff for the telly.

I’ve never met him, but he comes over as a genuine guy with a very active mind, and not a manufactured TV Personality or Celebrity type.

He is a great guy, (no pun intended) if you have read his biography, you will already know that he won’t do any tv program that is the usual tv, it has to be interesting, he isn’t bothered whether he does tv or not so you know what guy does on tv is going to be interesting!

I have always wanted him to win the TT Ilse of man, but also in a way not, as when he wins, he ain’t going to do it anymore as he has previously said!

Another must watch program of his, TT closer to the edge! What a film/documentary!
I guarantee you will love it, even if your not the biggest motorcycle racing nut like I am

And what he also says is, he won’t be going onto the podium when he wins after getting penalised for coming off the limiter to early, that is going to be very interesting!

Not much to do with Guy Martin in India but read today that he’s retiring from road racing after this years TT to go back to fixing trucks. He said he gets £12 per hour and double time on Saturdays! The man is a legend

Without doubt…a new (RIP) Fred Dibnah.
The two together on a trip would have made a great show!
