Get it right Carryfast. Rossi could have done the TT but as with every motorcycle racer he has the choice. He is 100% correct that the TT is dangerous. Far more so than short circuit racing.
I am fairly certain GM has an LGV licence as do most commercial fitters.
chances are he had never passed a test anywhere because he cannot read properly . i know of 2 people who really wanted to drive who cannot read, dyslexic whatever and you have to be able to read the questions to understand/answer the theory part of the test. Someone told me you can have a helper in to read on your behalf now whether thats the case im not sure.

Reading what’s on the screen and recording your answers
A member of staff at the test centre can:
read out all the instructions and questions on the screen
record your answers to the questions during the multiple-choice part of the test
Rewording the questions for you
You can ask for a member of staff to reword the theory test questions to make them easier for you to understand.
The person can’t change the technical language that you need to know. But they can change the order of the sentence and other non-technical words and phrases.
Franglais:
You still need to answer each question yourself.
the 2 folk i know, who have a problem reading also get very flustered under fire of a questioning. But in the normal everyday youd not think anything at all is wrong with them, look good, talk good , but for example, if you suddenly say,“here , quick write that address down for me” they mess it up and generally if they can see it coming try to avoid being put in these situations

As I heard it Rossi deffo said ‘wouldn’t’ too dangerous which logically also means ‘couldn’t’ because he ‘can’t’ handle the risks and more demanding technique of riding 10/10ths on the TT course.Which like every other TT rider makes Martin a cut above the sanitised circuit racing lot in my book.A bit like Stirling Moss’ achievements in car road racing easily eclipses the circuit racing only champions.

christ almighty,im agreeing with carryfast!!!
theres no denying that the risk factor of injury and especially death on the tt is far greater than circuit racing.
rossi is a fantastic rider, but no doubt has a different sense of self preservation and balls out “rostrum or hospital” attitude that the tt riders have.
a wrecked bike and a new set of leathers is a different bucket of eels than getting whats left of you extracted from a lampost or brick wall.

living here in northern ireland i get the nw2000 and the ulster gp on my doorstep which is just the iom in minature with the same riders and same disregard for life and limb.
this clip would be an example of the similar standard to the iom.
Let me educate you a little DD. No rider whether road racing or short circuit racing has no disregard for life and limb. It may look like that to you but its the furthest thing from the truth.
Two clowns trying to discuss something they obviously know very little about. I would say stick to trucks but CF seems to struggle there as well.

Did you actually read the two respective statements made by the two people in question. The technical demands of road racing are unarguably far more demanding than sanitised designed for purpose circuit racing and ( unfortunately ) the penalties for getting it wrong generally equally far higher.

mr carryfast,il let you show jts the error of his waffling ways as i really cant be bothered feeding hhim.
once again he knows everything and anything about another subject where everyone else will be wrong as his opinion differs usually from the rest of the planet.
it must be raining in thailand otherwise surely there must be something better to do than talking out of your jacksie and attempting to post troll inducing pish in here.
all we are waiting on now are the truck related holiday snaps so we can see the difference between buses in asia compared to iceland.
DD, trucks for me were a way to earn a living and I made a decent one but when it comes to motorcycle racing it’s been a passion of mine all my life. I spannered for a guy that raced classic bikes at the TT for years. I have been there and done that when it comes to motorbikes but I have absolutely no desire to discuss any of it with you or anyone else on a truck forum.
29 degrees here and less than two hours till 2020. Happy New year.

What I do not understand is Mr Martin is a fitter not a driver a fitter, so why does anyone care if he has a licence? after all many fitters have no hgv licence at all, obviously most dont claim to have one!
To my mind the TT & NW200 are the cutting edge on two wheels and a great deal more demanding (and dangerous) than circuit racing, much like car rallying (IMO) is far more demanding than any circuit.

in circuit you crash and get up and walk away ( mostly),
road racing when you crash you die,or end up like stephen hawking if not akin to the dunlops.
a father and 2 sons die due to road racing.
i think its very selfish to their mother and families, but if thats what they want to do then theres no denying they have got balls like space hoppers compared to the circuit dudes who would have large ones to start with.

There’s also the grey area provided by four wheels, lot’s of Detroit steel and a decent roll cage.Circuit racing is for wimps still stands.
