Thought I’d better keep the thread going,as no one else is bothering!!! Attention spans of a knat some people!!! Anyway,a Bewick Big J,obviously holding the traffic up on the A590 at Barrowbanks,on its way back to Milnthorpe with a Mcguffie curtainsider loaded with Bowater Scott tissue for somewhere in Lancashire or N.Wales.Then it would re-load with new 45 gal drums ex Braby’s, Breeze Lane, Aintree, for Marchon(Albright & Wilson) Whitehaven.s782.photobucket.com/albums/yy11 … 9_01-1.jpg

You appear to be having trouble posting your pics Dennis :exclamation:

Yea Dave I am,but only when I try to post them after having a look at an enlargement. If I return to my gallery and then post,no problem!!! Don’t know why as I always could!!! Cheers Dennis.PS Does that make sense----no!-----I thought not!!!

my back is broad my head is empty and as I have just got back from the pub my belly is full of beer, on a serious note maybe denis should lay a sheet of glass on the pic when he puts it in the scanner

Fair do’s “eastender”,constructive criticism is always welcome! However, some of the hundreds of shots in my gallery were taken of the actual photo, with a camera, then downloaded onto photobucket. So I’m embarresd enough about the presentation without having it rubbed in!!! Lets have some of your old photos on the thread,we could do with a bigger laugh than I can provide!! Cheers Dennis.

Keep the pics coming Dennis.I find them interesting.I do the same, take them straight off the camera, saves a lot of time scanning etc.
Cheers Dave.

That was no fib Pete, those Big Js all had 8-pot Patricrofts in but nowt to do with the IOM,just extending Morecambe pier.An ex Kendal retired haulier has the key to an ex LMS warehouse on Heysham quay where those Guys have been stored for donkeys.
This is a true story,an IOM Steam Packet crew member saw those units being shuffled into the warehouse one dark and stormy night. He told me in t’pub two or three years ago…mind you that ale was strong :grimacing:
