Bewick:
I bet SOM or anyone else didn’t have Big Js that could sail 'downt th’cut!!!
This is what we sent up to Keswick to rescue our driver,The Milnthorpe Lifeboat,it was new in A.D.800 and was washed up on Morecambe Bay,I think it was one of the first IOM ferry’s! Dennis.
This is proper watter…look at the bow wave in front of that AEC MK3,like the Severn Bore.
Com’on “loader8” I wouldn’t sit in that Viking longship waiting for the rain we might get nowadays!! This is the boat I kip in every night! It’ll just float of the trailer when the level rises!! I’ll fit the 8LXB out the Guy in the boat and use its Lister 2 pot for an anchor!! Bewick.
hiya,
Any room on the longboat Dennis i think i can still set a course and steer to it, pretty gifted eh’ it’s a long time since i had to do it but it’s like riding a bike you never forget, oh does that only come into effect if your skippering a pedalo.
thanks harry long retired.’
anyway bewick,i,m off to bed, nice to communicate with you and i hope that i have helped you,if i remember rightly the badges off the grilles on the guys were usually taken by the mechanics to stick on their toolboxes, thats why you dont see any on the front of the guys, very rare 240 gardner badges.
Dave the Renegade:
Yappie, Marstricky throw the towel in.Dennis is taking a battering, show some mercy for your old mate .
Now then Dave ,don’t you think you are inviting a right punch-up if Yappie comes on the thread and finds “carryfast” has been running his mouth?
Wasn’t referring to Carryfast Dennis, just thinking of all the proof of the Guy with the 8LXB…
The obviously very well founded verbal proof must in all fairness be accompanied by photographic evidence which by all accounts is sadly lacking at this juncture!!! Dennis.
oh and one more thing, that guy with the boat ,look at the air filter, abviously a ■■■■■■■ or a 180 gardner,if the filter was right down just above the wheel arch then that would be a 240,keep your eyes open for it,and good luck in your search.

Dennis, the poor drivers back then couldn’t afford camera’s,they had it hard enough being bollocked by the boss to do more.
There were some hard taskmasters about back then .
Cheers Dave.

Think if we “pushed off” at high tide “H” you could get us to the IOM,I reckon if we took a few bob with us C.B. might give us shelter from the S*** storm that looks like it could engulf us “non-believers” at anytime shortly!!!Dennis.

Hi Harry and Dennis.Just follow the “Ben-My-Chree” from Heysham at either 1415 or 0215.She only runs at 16 knots, about 20 mph in landlubber money,so you could keep up with her.Best not come into Douglas, best use Laxey up the coast,we don’t want you arresting as Lancs and Durham illegal immigrants.

Don’t fret Chris we’ll wear our Y fronts over our trousers so as to look like the rest of the IOM natives, and stick some fake nostrils on the back of our necks!!! Dennis.

No money needed Dennis Old Chris still has tea chests full of the stuff, wish now i had’nt been too lazy to wave the old logbook about more i too could have been wealthy and living it up on the IOM.

Thad best come as you usually dress then Dennis. Put some Bewick overalls on and Harry can find his BRS ones, you could both end up working for me - Webb’s Enterprises, bring your licences,I’ll sort a couple of motors out for you both, you aren’t fussy are you?
Take yer pick…
Bewick:
I’ll see tu’t 'thorse and “H” can be’t conductor!! Dennis.
Fine, just make sure t’hoss keeps it’s blinkers on,we don’t want it freetening to death by uncouth and ugly Lancs and Durham lads.

I think you must have locked yappie and martstricky up in dungeon Dennis,to stop them telling us about your Guy Big J with an 8LXB,because I ain’t seen either on here lately.
Cheers Dave.
