I am still waiting for the S O M chap to get back to me.David Edwards will definately come up with proof,as he has a Commercial Moter with a write up about their Big J.He also has the logbook for the lorry,don’t know what it’s original spec was until we see it.

You are right again – It was the same Welch Transport in Hereford. - By looking at the signwriting on the Guy,
it could be Stapleford or Hereford. I think it’s Hereford and that driver seems very familiar to me.
I remember them hauling from Llangadog Creamery through Williams Bros ( Hereford Transport ) in the good old days. After another look at the signwriting – it is Stapeford on the door of this Guy Big J. ----- regards - Hywel.

That’s a blast from the past…Llangadog Creamery… I ran into there a fair bit years…and years…and years…and years ago, that long ago I can’t remember what it looks like.

I used to fetch pipes from Albion Concrete Products next door to the creamery at Llangadog. Used to be a nice run down there from Kington,used to call at the motel/service station & cafe,just the other side of Trecastle and have a cooked dinner in the section for drivers.It’s a shame that place never lasted long,not enough passing trade I suppose.

Llywel motel lost a lot of trade when Duport steel in llanelly closed down and then once the M4 opened through south wales most lorries used that route so no trade.the daft thing is a burger van wanted to use the parking area for trade instead of the layby up the road and was turned down by the council Thinking where the place is the reason they gave was it was dangerous and where is the enterance not on a bend but on a long stright piece of road
