A few lights in the grille is nothing , someone I know says he’s going to buy a complete set of alloy wheels , well 6 anyway the inner drive wheels will be the original steel wheels .
I did say what about when someone looks underneath
Oh and he’s not an owner driver
Discuss … I was speechless but not entirely surprised

I bet his guvnor just adores him, but I reckon he (and you if on same firm) won’t get a pay raise anytime soon. The boss will come out with the ‘I’m paying these ■■■■ s too much money’ while laughing his knob off , as a well known co owner I know well once said to me over a pint one Sunday as 3 of his men were working to pay off all the crap they put on his motor…fact, not made up.
But as I said…Each to his own, let them crack on.
Thank god for that, I was worried that you thought I was Trucker Jay!
I’d like to go with you into the curtain design book, but I’ve never tramped, so I’m thinking about a paternity test!
I’m not sure about stopping you while you have your Laurence Llewelyn Bowen moments.
I’m thinking of having you sectioned!
Who says you can’t drink indoors, I’m having a bottle of tank polisher right now!
Grill lights?
I’m a fleet driver in narrow width Actros and my last week of driving trucks (and anything on tachos)…
In a few weeks I’m driving coaches within 50kms to Heathrow and no tacho needed

Im with you there. But, also, how will alloys and steels fit onto same studs? I could well be wrong (not for first time) but dont alloys use nuts that fit inside the mounting holes, and steels need nuts with built in washer that bear onto surface of wheel?
I know its not you yourself doing this, so I aint having a go at you obviously.

and the steel and alloy rims may well fuse/bond themselves together after a winter of wet salty roads. I have known alloys stuck on drums

I know some of us laugh at these guys that spend their money on other peoples trucks, and others come on and try to justify it.
Ok …it’s up to them if they are daft enough, (sorry )
I don’t really care in REAL terms, as long as I aint affected (by my boss re.thinking pay raises that is)
I just can’t help looking and thinking, but …if it floats their boat let them get on with it.
However buying alloys for somebody’s truck is carrying madness and naivity to another dimension. It’s one step away from the fuel and tyres thing.
I don’t know how much we’re talking here, and I really can’t be arsed to look, but ffs, why would you?
A week in the sun?, deposit on a new motor? or 8 alloys for my firm’s truck that I drive? Hmm…Let me think about it.
Have a word mate .
Hi Rob…would you know where i can buy those woollen dolls that fit over toilet rolls ? i think they would add something different in the front window, especially one each side, and hopefully match with the flags put up in a triangle, just bought some new bullfighter spears too, so i am also asking approval.
I dont mind some of the bling if it looks neat and tidy ( not too much, not too little ) just right, if that suits, i cant stand drivers who draw the curtains so close, they can barely see out the mirrors, and i cant stand most of the tattoos on the sides of trucks, whatever theyre called, i like a nice paint job, with just the name of the company, if it has one, but i used to love the hauliers who would paint scrolls around the doors…but that was back in the day, and i`m all grown up now.

Hey TB.
Yeh, I have a contact in Holland who deals in dolls, but I think they are more plastic and rubber than wool.
Whether this variety would look right stuck one on each side of your windscreen is debatable, although they would be a conversation piece at Truckstops.
I have some plastic flags (circa 1980, when as you know they were compulsory in artics ) in the loft somewhere, I’ll dig em out for you.
As for the Bullfighter spears, I chucked them out, after an unfortunate incident when I came back to the cab one night ■■■■■■■ and suffered appaling injuries after adapting them to clean my toenails.
I believe its deemed acceptable to have furry dice dangling in the windscreen again. But only if you hang them up in an ironic way ! RobRoys flags would be from the era when you had to have nationality plates from all over stuck to the air stack on the back of your cab too. Oh, and one of those waving hands stuck on a spring too.
Well if he does buy the alloy wheels I will creat a special thread , titled "dumbest bling buying drivers ". it’s gotta be a couple of grand surely and yea I don’t think you could mix alloy and steel wheels on the same axle either. He must have a grands worth of pointless tat on the truck already

If a mix is dangerous, it will be more than likely illegal.
Imagine the irony if things do go ■■■■ up, VOSA inspect the truck, the operator gets fined and Mr Head gets the sack.
These lights you can get around your air kit, could a employer ask you to remove these (if you left) surely they would need filling and spraying?? I bet most people would end up leaving them on just down to cost??!

if you upgraded your car wheels to alloys you would need to notify your insurance and quite likely pay a higher premium, if you didn’t they may only pay out to third party in a claim. Would insurers be less strict with fleet insurance ?
