Greggs on the motorway

am i the only one thinking greggs the bakers are missing a trick by not getting into motorway services i think if the prices were kept below service station prices they would make a killing.or would nobody go into the overpriced moto,s and suchlike if they bolted one on to there services maybe they should just stick a 18 tonner in every services and open the back doors and sell stuff on the qt

Sadly, They would probably inflate the prices to motorway standards anyway…

they will be soon watch this space!!!

They’re building one in Lymm at the moment

if they do go into the MSA’s they will only be a franchise, which of the major MSA’s would actually let a highstreet retailer undercut them ON THEIR OWN SITE?

maybe the msa operators would make more money renting out units to companys like these than trying to charge you 8 quid fro food that sbeen under a heat lamo for a couple of hours they put a greggs in newcastle airport and they charge normal price it makes a fortune 2 quid cheaper for a bacon sarnie than the airside cafe

yes i know McD’s have gone into a few Roadchef sites but that is a joint venture/partnership/franchise thingy.

Surely Greggs customer base is chavs and people who watch Jeremy Kyle. Do they even know what a motorway is never mind actually use one?

Oi! I happen to enjoy a chargrill chicken oval bit on occasion, and not only do I leave ‘Rhino’ chained up outside, but I always turn my baseball cap round the right way before I go in.

I would rather see more subways that are accessible to trucks than greggs.

And what is your stance with regard to the JK Show?

Good idea, the problem is the thieves who operate the services would charge such a ridiculous concession prices would quadruple.

The M.S.A is an absolute goldmine of opportunity for retailers with many people now using them as a means of travel to and from work just imagine a small co-op or Tesco charging the same prices they do on the high street, M&S have a few but the prices are a scandal, if it were going to happen it would have done so by now, as it stands I’m afraid we are stuck with the organized fraud that is the M.S.A.

I prefer to hang back in the que and watch ‘Candice’ and ‘Declan’ fight over whether 6-month old ‘Baby Chelsie’ should have a steak bake or a bridie for breakfast.

Much more entertaining than anything on television …

A national treasure is our Jeremy.youtu.be/AIPD8qHhtVU

Two absolute gems and well worth a watch.

Would love to know which greggs this is at, I always end up stuck behind some fat bint taking ages to decide what she wants and then ordering everything thats within vision meaning it takes about 15 minutes before I even get a look in. Either that or a single pregnant mum ordering food to cure her cravings and her kid moaning she wants a gingerbread man and not a sausage roll with her mum shouting back saying you’ll have what I tell you you can have! :open_mouth: Then again maybe that’s just the area I’m from

Cheers

They do,it’s just a well kept secret…next time you see one just jump in the back and help yourself,no worries.

God no who wants them on the motorway when you’ve M&S and Waitrose. I’ve never been in a Greggs and I never intend to! Yes it makes me feel superior

Has anyone used the Blackburn and Darwen services??

I find the prices in there to be excellent, the fuel is about the going rate, the LP4 baguettes are good value (some are 99p).

Why can this services (which is an Extra if that makes any difference) manage to keep decent prices, yet others are a complete rip off?

Is it true they do a liquidised sausage roll to fill up babies bottles ?.

they proberly would have to increase prices due to high rates for the building.
