Well I must say I had a great day at Cosford, Great motors and first class photos, I met Dave , Dan, & of course last but not least ROF, (Casey), I realey enjoyed it the 470 mile round trip was well worth it the old Jag did an overall MPG, Of 49.4. MPG, Not bad for a 2.2.Diesel 8 speed Automatic, Im looking forward to the next ones that come along, Im hoping to purchase an old Foden or Scammell tractor unit or whatever comes along at the right money, So I can spend the rest of the years of my life doing what I allways did best driving old wagons, Regards Larry.

Well Robert, I thought that Malmic might have had a ride out with you today instead of poor Gavin or will his nerves not stand the pace nowadays? If the Mrs had still been in hospital I would have had a trip down to the Salt Box and bought you a cuppa, but she isn’t and so I didn’t! Looks like a good time was had by all and more diesel drank than tea!

Pete.

Well Dave I didn’t have a lot of time to spare, As I said my good lady is not in the best of health at present so that’s why I had to leave before these classics arrived, But I certainly had a cracking day,Regards Larry.

I saw the big Jag in the car park but never met the driver, never mind no doubt I’ll bump in to you somewhere Larry, might call & pester you when I’m next delivering to Cramlington

You’ll not get Mick anywhere near a lorry again Pete so we have to make the best of a bad job & as I said Gavin does a good impression of a passenger.

As you’ve seen by the pictures my daughter’s (& everyone else ) took there was a real good turn out, one certain tractor unit driver was intent on overtaking as a matter of course, but that’s weekend wheelspinners from Middleton for you.

Pete.

That wheelspinner insists that he used to be the owner of not one, but TWO trailers. Probably too much weight (empty) for those fourteen little litres to cope with.

Next time Rof I’ll bring a semi low for those less capable lorrys to ride on ,commers ect ect .

That Commer always seems to be capable enough to cope with any run, it completed the Cornish Coastal Run don’t forget, the only run it cant go on is one that’s something to do with Limestone, because like most none completers “you’re barred” I do seem to remember that Dennis on the back of a low loader & it was the only time I’ve known it overtake my Commer, time for a big D restoration I think. Your mate from ■■■■■■■ will be so pleased to see it on the road.

I’m a bit doubtful about going up to ■■■■■■■ for his engine. Those eight cylinders could be a bit too much for my old van.

Some from The Gravel Run and The Shropshire Trundle parked at RAF Cosford.

1930 Star Flyer, owned by a well respected Trucknet member, who was a very interesting bloke to meet and chat to.
