Grabbed it with both hands

Plenty of jobs with this mob. My sister and brother in law just did a trip with them. Flew to Sydney to join the tour, flying to Ayres Rock/Ullaru, did the various Rock tours and had a Guy Sebastian concert. Traveled to Alice Springs and did various tours there.
These are people who, until Covid rudely interrupted global plans, have holidayed all over Europe, Asia and Iceland, twice.
They’ve probably seen more of England, Wales an Scotland than most Brits. They raved about the latest tour like I’ve only heard them praise Iceland and Stonehenge.

They’ll even chuck in a grand (about five hundred quid) to get there.

First trip away done!!! All went to plan and as I expected, it felt like I was on a holiday. Easiest weeks driving i have ever done. Had a real good time with passengers and some great interactions. brought home £250 in tips which me and the other driver shared between us, £125 each, everyone was giving us twenty pounds and tenners each. Hotel food etc all in plus our wages. Visited fantastic places around the highlands and had decent weather except for a bit of rain on one of the days. Overall I love this and have another 5 day trip on my own next week, Mon to Fi in Cotswolds and Stratford upon Avon. Cant wait.

Do not forget that coach driving is one of those occupations which HMRC will automatically assumes generates tips in cash. You will need to take this into account. Best not to be specific about how much on a public forum.

Loved it mate, the job is made for me. Wished I had tried it years ago.

Well you know, I always thought coach driving would have been the poor side of driving and a nightmare, one to avoid, having tried it now I have the opposit opinion and am actually looking forward to going to work next week.

Glad you enjoyed it and hope it continues.

But yeah don’t publicise too much about tips. Just be grateful for them

Don’t know if you still can but you used to be able to make a killing selling bottles of water/cans of pop, chocolate, crisps etc etc if you had your own vehicle. Nip down to cash and carry, stick up at wholesale prices, say 12p a bottle of water sold for 50p straight from the fridge!

I’m everso glad for the OP, good luck to him, however what the bloody hell does a gratuity that happy passengers give to the staff have any bloody thing to do with HMRC, it’s a sodding gift from usually older folk who have already paid the bleedin tax and no doubt been taxed again if their pension happens to go over the threshold, its not unearned or even earned income it’s a gift.

Is there anything our apparatchiks won’t stoop to in order to keep the working person the one who fotts the bill for every bloody freeloader our govt can encourage here.

Bloody Nora

Money :astonished: you git. I just got bars of chocolate & wurthers originals when bus driving. Glad your liking it.

ha ha get those too

What shocked me the most is, when you pull into a services area, you sign in to WH Smiths as a coach driver and tell them how many passengers you have on board and they give you a £10 food voucher to spend in any of the facilities on site and a £2 voucher for smiths. Never had that before as well as the novelty of reserved Coach only parking bays at the front of the area. Never eaten so much cake and drank so many costas

Next weeks 5 day holiday to the Cotswolds.

Stow-on-the-Wold

Bourton-on-the-Water

Stratford-upon-Avon

Warwick Castle
plus staying in 4 star hotel with all meals included. This is the best driving job ever!!!

Okay, now I’m interested - do they want anyone else?

I can put my hand on my heart and say that I absolutely love it. You definately have to be a people person no doubt about it. I never stopped laughing from setting off to returning home. The passengers were fantastic and we all fully enjoyed it. They showed their appreciation if you get my drift and a lot said it was the best holiday they have had on a coach, I got involved with them all was telling them jokes over the mic etc. Just a great job in my opinion and would fully reccommend it to anyone who fancies it. Moneywise I may have dropped a hundred pounds but claw that back very easily.
