They’re prising their wallet open then !!..bbc.co.uk/news/business-30269231
It probably wont happen …new government in May then nobody will have the money…
More Government spin to win votes for the 2015 election, we all know the conservatives lie.
Any fool can spend someone else’s, or in this case, borrowed money.
Tory’s trying to outspend labour, always going to end well.
More money wasted on lining contractors share holders pockets… By the time the “infrastructure” set up for these Road works take place and everyone has a chunk of the pie it would have cost us more in loss revenue in the years it takes to implement the rroad works, great Iam starting the week cynical
Surely a tunnel under Stonehenge is a waste of money, it’s all being dueled so that and perhaps erecting some kind of screen maybe to stop the rubber neckers should keep traffic flowing.
Get slated when they don’t spend on the road network, get slated when they do
Would be cheaper to move Stonehenge
More stopping places? Might be a vote winner if Merkel approves it!
they should be spending our road tax and fuel duty every year,
does anybody have a rough figure for those 2 amounts…■■
Yay, more years of misery as they set about “fixing” the roads.

Just the Conservatives? Labour said the coalition’s record was one of “all talk and no delivery”. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
I think you’ll find that no government lies - they’re just very economical with the truth (as the saying goes).
There are some good plans here;
Improving links to the Port of Liverpool,
Dueling the A1 in the North East,
Improving the M42 to the east of Birmingham,
Improving the east-west connection to Norfolk, etc,
but there are also some which are a waste of time and money. Stonehenge has been mentioned, and you could widen the M62 between Manchester and Leeds to 12 lanes and it won’t make a ■■■■ bit of difference until the M67 is continued onto the M1 north of Sheffield and the M65 is continued onto the A1M near Harrogate.
combined revenue from VED and fuel duty was £32 billion plus £4 billion vat in 2009… that’s the figure from 5 years ago…
what do they do with the money ■■? apart from live lavish lifestyles at our expense…
For a tiny fraction of that, say 1 million I’d promise never to use a motorway ever again thus saving wear and tear from my vehicle, who do I speak to about arranging this payment?!

we didn’t know you were a millionaire !!
just seen on the news 1 12 14 ,part of the road widening scheme is the A303 section at stonhenge, thats going to be fun cos no doubt the tree huggers are already gearing up for confrontations with the road builders, they haven’t been seen for a while so they will need their television fix when they get on the news which it will
… Well said All… And don’t forget about the ‘’ Rich Man’s’’ Train Set, HS2 somewhere in the future. No doubt all these projects will go over budget as usual!..
They all promise to sh-t miracles before an election. After the election, all these plans will be shelved.
When does the tunnel they are doing from Holyhead to Dublin start?
