It doesnt surprise me at all.The easier and cheaper they make it,more drivers, down down go your wages

I suppose round one was making the test easier, now we’re on to round two, making the cpc easier, cheaper, running us into the ground completley

Harry Monk:
While in theory a pass/fail test is a better idea than an attendance based course, a previous CPC trainer told us that the last thing the Powers That Be would want is for a substantial percentage of the driver pool to be removed from the mix, so my guess is the difficulty level of a multiple choice exam will be similar to those competitions which are required under gaming laws to ask a “skill based” question, which normally goes along the lines of something like asking whether the Tower of London is in Paris, Rome or London.

 the answer is A, Paris

Not passing will prevent a driver from working."

Does that mean that anyone taking the test, and failing, looses any time remaining on their existing card?
On one hand they might still have a few weeks or years left.
On t`other hand, they have voluntarily demonstrated incompetence. Should any existing card be nullified?

That’s how an MOT works.

No it isn’t

Reminded me…

Of the Jasper Carrott sketch about BRMB radio (which I can’t find on Ytube).

‘Welcome back after the news, we’re doing the phone-in competition. What are Trevor Francis’ initials?’
1963?
‘Yeh, you’ve won, you’re the nearest’.

Exactly. Encourage lots and lots of cheap drivers. Wages are such a significant percentage of overall running costs. If they can persuade a lot of older drivers to return part time, then wages will be forced down and the tax take from them will increase. Joe public will be happy because inflation will diminish and essential prices will lower.
All part of the plan in a trickle down economy.

My thoughts on the subject, because I just know you were desperate to hear what a boggle eyed t**t thinks. TikTok - Make Your Day

Poor Switchlogic will be jumping off the nearest bridge :open_mouth:

I’ve got an exit plan if the worst happens. It involves leaving the U.K. for Ireland. Probably permanently.

90% of drivers thought it was a money making racket when introduced
now the DCPC is a good idea to keep wages high & drivers out of the industry

Yes,but why should we have gone through all this crap, and now suddenly ,its not necessary.I had to pay for my cpc and do it in my own time and we all know what a ball ache it was.
Now,you can just walk off the street into truck driving nearly. They take us for a bunch of ■■■■■■■■■ look how special we were during the driver shortage

You seem to be confused about what a review is. It’s not been abolished.

No,I didnt look,to be honest but I bet it will be an easier option than what we had to do.Im sure of that

FFS yes it is. If you go and get an early MOT, say a month before it’s going to expire, because you wouldn’t lose that month, then if it fails, you’ve proved your vehicle is not roadworthy and can’t be used on the roads.
Do you have any evidence of your opinion?

Whatever you’ve done only lasts 5 years, so if this review changes anything in the future it’ll be easier and cheaper for you too.

Terry Cooksey:
Test passes will not count towards the ‘International’ qualification, and failing the test will mean you are unable to drive vocationally until you pass it.

Drivers want to be called professionals, this is how it works in any profession. Pass mark for some of the certifications I have outside of driving are 85%. If you don’t get 85% you’re not deemed to know the subject so it’s a fail.

Driving a vehicle that’s failed

You can take your vehicle away if:

your current MOT certificate is still valid
no ‘dangerous’ problems were listed in the MOT

Easier? One day per year sitting on your ■■■■ in a classroom isn’t exactly hard is it? Other than having to put up with a classroom full of strangers, some of whom turn up with a face like a smacked derriere and spend the whole day tripping over their bottom lip like a petulant 9 year old. :unamused:

Cpc explained ,…I boil an egg in 2023…does the egg get boiled differently in 2028., some one uses a rachet strap in 2023 do they use it differently in 2028.

If you have no ‘dangerous’ problems i.e. only minor or advisory or no problems, then you pass an MOT!
