Why is it they can tax us to death and cut services to hospitals and schools and then allow £10 million for the funeral for Mrs Thatcher ?

Cos thats life And its ■■■■■
Because clearly one person is more important than the millions of peasants who make up the backbone of this country.
compared to the money thats wasted on other stuff, foreign aid to ‘nuclear’ country’s,or country’s where the corrupt government 'creams 'it off for themself, millitary contracts that are grossly over priced or never get finished, computer systems that cost ‘top dollar’ and never work right,EU payments then her funeral is a ‘drop in the ocean’,still don’t agree with it tho, seems like all the government can do is waste money, don’t even get me started on them islamic fundamentalists who we spend millions ‘keeping’/taking to court and still cant get rid of!
pretty much summed up here
considering the 70 odd billion we have recieved as part of a rebate from the eu that she negotiated,i think 10 million doesnt sound too bad does it?

Are you for real or appearing here all week■■?
A high proportion of it is probably security because kids who werent even alive in her power days want to demonstrate. Of course to demonstrate you have to have a clear diary i.e. do bugger all all day.
Like or hate her she still was a UK statesperson with far bigger cahunas than anyone in either side today. Everything she did she believed in and believed rightly or wrongly it was for the good of the country.

This is what I don’t understand, where has that 70 odd billion gone ? How come we only here about it now to justify her funeral cost ? If there’s 70 odd billion floating about that can be dipped into to pay for a funeral why are we being screwed over to pay the government balls up of finances?..

I’ve also heard that silly argument. If she didn’t give it them in the first place, Then she wouldn’t get a rebate.
I found it ridiculous that so many people fell for so many lies from that women. She sold shares in state owned companies to those that already owned them. and they fell for it.
when you own a company, you have an income. when you sell it and spend all the money, you end up with nothing.

Tony Bliar and his oppo the weird Jock ■■■■■■ it up the wall years ago.
Bliars son Cast iron Dave continues in his fathers footsteps, another waster who couldn’t run a p up in a brewery, well not whilst he’s busy filling all his pockets with loot, just like all the others.

Too right, the country would be in an even worse state than it is now, had it not been for her breaking the unions strangle hold on us.
I am just old enough to remember the seventies, the power cuts, dead unburied, rubbish left in the streets and workers going in for a night shift taking their sleeping bags with them! We would have carried on being the poor man of europe were it not for her.

And I’m old enough to remember communities whom hearts she ripped out which have never recovered, only way out of a recession is to manufacture / build your way out of it - oh thats right we can’t manufacture as she sold everything!!!

Some validity in that comment but I believe that change was afoot anyway.

Then throw in the 15% mortgage interest rate, the ERM debacle, the selling off of council housing and being denied in law the use of that money to build stock to replace that sold, the gross shift of wealth from the poorest parts of the country to the richest part of the country, the widenning of the pay gap between the lowest and highest, the deregulation of the city paving the way to the greed and corruption that brought about the 2008 crash. The “government” (of any hue) is only the public face of the various vested interests that stay in very dark shadows pulling the strings and levers that the populace will never be trusted to pull.
The government waste money, thats what they do best.
Id rather pay for a thatcher funeral than give ■■■■■■■ aid to india or give the greeks/banks another bailout.
