Got my new Truck earlier this week!

Coming from a 58 manual, to this beauty. The automatic gearbox has just made my life a hell of a lot easier! Give us a wave chaps, Stay Safe.

Where are you based?

Nice one drive, enjoy:lol:

I love my Auto Actors, I was just thinking today about how [zb]ed I’d be if I had to change the gears myself, and all that left leg work… It doesn’t bear thinking about.

Enjoy, nice to see you have a bed too, IMO day cabs should be banned!

M6 J28 - Leyland. We do long distance and nights out north south east west so were dotted everywhere. Theres only 2 of our wagons have that colour so I should be easy to find! all the rest are the same but fluro green and fluro purple/pink. Were a colourful bunch

I agree, the gearbox area has been replaced with a nice arm rest now, its just hard at first because your left leg wants to find a clutch, and dosent seem to give up! Also agree with the daycab suggestion. Many of times ive needed a power nap and jumped onto it, very useful. No storage whatsoever in day cabs apart from document area.

Hi Ryan do you get up through Sanquhar on the A76 as I take a few photos o trucks and have a couple of a Bodycare 58 plate. I see it going up and back down later in the day. I will put the photos on and see if its you. Eddie.

First time I got into an auto I’d stamp the floor when coming to a stop and feel a fool, good to know I’m not the only one who struggled

Hi Eddie, yes definantly one of ours, A76 is that up Dumfries way? (So many A roads to remember)

Yeah we get up there, usually on our way to Dumfries, Ayr or Irvine for the night out. I use M74 J12 to get to Ayr but its not the greatest road at this time of year so Il be going through Dumfries. Thabks for the photos!

Unlucky mate - They just filled the last position with a Relief Driver. Jobs a doddle, Mon-Fri earlies  theyve also just got 5 x 63 plates, exactly same body but space cabs, now theres some serious space in them!

Okay Ryan I will keep an eye out for you. Eddie.

Enjoy mate. I got my new 63 reg XL Globetrotter Monday. its done 5500km already.

Last rigid I drove was, let me think, an Albion. How many blankets do you need across the engine cover in this new DAF to drown out the noise from the engine?

Nice van.

ā– ā– ā– ā– !

It’s a truck and I think it’s a northern thing calling it a van. Everyone in Newcastle tell me to move the ā€œVanā€. It’s a bloody lorry

Ha Ha that made me laugh…probably last rigid I drove as well apart from a coach…A 1971 Albion Clydesdale up and down to London from Scotland and after that a Guy Big J…it’s no wonder I am half deaf now!..good old times!

Keep telling yourself that and eventually it might sprout a few more axles.
