On the other hand he didn’t go into as much detail as to how it ‘‘turned out ok’’ as much as he did with the grievance he had.
Maybe a face saving excercise, who knows, but I would reckon giving a driver a 2am start is hardly laying off him and giving him an easier time imo,…but hey, what do I know

What we all know is, some drivers like late starts, some want midnight starts. If the lad says it’s ok that is all we can go by.
In fact I think he posted how 4am was a late start for him on another thread…
What we have to be grateful for is he is new to the game and seems happy enough. So many come into the job and are quickly disheartened by it all.
I’ve read all the posts, and when trying to decide how badly or otherwise this lad was treated, I came to the conclusion that his choice of title for the thread just about says it all
Regards. John.
So we have got to the stage of conjecture. Until the op gives more details, that’s it!
On the topic of reasonable, my shift tonight will consist of booking about an hour’s break whilst someone else tips me 2 hours in, followed by probably about 9 hours in the go. Thus I would only need another 15 mins as I won’t hit my 4.5 hour drive time. Thankfully I’ll be under no pressure not to take another break. As if I was, I’d call that unreasonable. But would some employers agree?
Sent via TPN, so it’s either lost, damaged or late…
Darkside:
I agree with the time pressure bit on a new driver.
Darkside:
I just don’t agree that in this case it was that bad. The comment ‘you should have got farther’, is hardly pressure is it
Make your mind up! Do you have problems with roundabouts?
Sometimes, but it’s nothing like the problem you have with reading.
Ah well, being a driver… far too busy to spend all day goppin around on websites, dissecting every word. Bottom line is matey… pressure on a newby driver makes said desk jock a tt. Really though, why you so keen to defend such high levels of tttyness begs the question… how drawers does your desk have?
You know when I said “I agree with the time pressure bit on the driver”?
That was the bit when I agreed with you about how planners shouldn’t put pressure on new drivers.
I wasn’t defending anything. It’s called reading, though the use of the word ‘matey’ shows me you went to a far posher school than me so I guess you didn’t need to listen.
I am sorry to have posted today, I have been on nights for 6 shifts, but from now on will only post after 6pm if that suits you better?

After midnight please, then I won’t need to see your useless boring droll. Night night pet.
Glad your enjoying the job. Just think after you not doing enough the other day they have you sitting about now. Starting at 2am finished at 8am and now sitting till 4am is a lot of dead time.
Jingle Jon:
Try baboon, jester with a hint of sarcasm, and perhaps stick you head in a boiling bucket of tar.
Don’t you mean ‘your’ ?
I promise you, if you learn to read and write properly it opens up a whole new world.
Trust me on this, smart people don’t pickup others on typos in fori.
The word ‘droll’ means: humour, funny, clown etc.
Fwiw, I speak several languages, English is my 4th. I have to say, there’s little more amusing than watching an idiot thinking he’s twice as smart as he is.
