Got it :)

Evening all,

As some of you may have seen earlier this week, i had got myself an interview today for my first class one job with a Gainsborough haulage firm.

So, went for the interview and assesment and flew through both of them
The job is mine if i want it !!!

I am quite pleased with myself as its going to be my first full time driving job on leaving the forces after 20 years.
The pay is not brilliant, even the transport manger admitted that to me, £381 on an average 50 hour week, £19 for the first night out then £20 there after,3-4 nights out a week if i want them, parking paid for, and my own motor after a couple of weeks (apparently 58/9 plate DAF).

Just thought i would share this with you all

well done. good luck. good news just before xmas. truck em easy.

Good luck with the new job…shytalk.

Good luck and I hope no one comes along saying they won’t get out of bed for that, you got a job and I’m sure you’re really looking forward to starting it and feeling much better about yourself.

They seemed a friendly enough bunch and TM was honest about pay and things.

And of course a diary is obligatory for newbies…

Nice to see the TM was up front about the pay. It makes a refreshing change.

Ken.

Well, after the thoughts that i had a job lined up, i just recieved a phone call this morning from the company to be told " Sorry, made a mistake the other day and we are not as busy as what we thought, therefore there is no job for you"

Proper feel like i have been kicked in the nuts !

Ouch that’s bad news

Yeah…proper gutted !!!

From happy chappy to sad chappy in one 3 minute phone call :frowning:
