Well I arrived in the centre of Manchester today at 0630, unloaded at 0815 in a loading bay, asked organiser if I would be ok til I reloaded at 1530 and they said I can’t see why not…tip top I thought, so I went for a mooch, had a cuppa and a chat with the owner of the cars then at lunchtime I returned to my truck and after having a read I decided 40 winks were in order
I woke up after an hour to be greeted with this
Is that a bona fide gotcha, or over exuberance? (what`s the BTP signify on the sign?)
God knows to both questions, they did wait over 6hrs and til I was snoozing before applying said ticket…
It’s because you weren’t loading, you were waiting.
A feel that is a minor technicality
The discounted fine is probably about the same as a MSA’s Truck Park, at least you got access to some decent facilities.
Not sure if you got a £50/£70, both are reduced 50% if paid in 14 days.
He did well to get it so neat under your wiper
Are you also not parked outside the loading area? Front wheel looks partly like it could be over the line

Should be locked up for that… who does he think he is?

I know, not saying I agree with it, just probably how the spineless ■■■■ who put the ticket on saw it.
I could never do that job, unless it’s banging them on new cars, expensive motors, if I saw a family people carrier illegally parked I’d want to turn a blind eye.
The tickets under the wiper so, how tall was the ■■■■■■■ warden? That’s why he got a ticket, he could see he was bed.

He was bang to rights though? Parked for 6 hours in a loading bay when clearly not loading.
He could have left the trailer open (if empty) and i’m sure that a loophole exists in this situation but don’t quote me on it

He was bang to rights yes, obviously the parking restrictions are there because the company he was collecting from later obviously has had problems at some point not having access to load/deliver, he asked if it was ok to stay there while waiting for his load and they said yes, obviously not expecting another lorry to turn up needing access. I just fail to see who he has inconvenienced by parking there which to me makes the fine unjust, after all he was collecting later in the day.
Welcome to the club!
Unfortunately the ‘parking fine industry’ is now a big multi million pound business for councils which is nothing more or nothing less than just a cash cow.
In Greater Manchester alone a total of 760,000 penalty charge notices were handed out between April 2011 and February 2014 with drivers been stung with more than £25m in parking fines in less than three years!!
A warden told me,to stay in a goods area, you have to be seen in the “act” of loading or unloading.
On a multi drop, they want to see the tail lift down or the rear doors open which would attract thieves.

Wonder if these ‘rules’ are published? Do they make them up as they see fit to match the situation as they see it?
I would appeal it although you probably know what the outcome will be anyway.
To be fair i reckon that’s a fair cop, you’d done the loading/unloading bit and were treating the bay as a free parking zone, what 7 hours total not actually loading/unloading?
Whilst you were wandering/eating/snoozing another lorry might have turned up and had to load on the double yellows because you were occupying the loading bay for purely convenient parking purposes.
In that there London hell hole (crosses himself), you’d have most likely exceeded the short loading time and been ticketted whilst still loading.
Understand the predicament, but in all fairness being parked there from 06.30 to 15.30 is taking the pi55, so in all fairness you got what happens, its not up to the warehouse to say its ok or not ok, its up to the traffic warden and the regulations, so pay up, wipe your mouth, and treat it as a lesson learned.
Well having looked at the ticket prior to handing it to my boss it’s reduced to £35 which from 0630-1700 is a bargain for a city centre I know in hindsight I should’ve left ramp down but I was actually delivering cars for a charity event and although the landlords said fine as there is no deliveries there on a Sunday, it’s the council that are in charge of the loading bays etc hence the ticket, the customer said just chuck it the invoice so no real drama…

Not if someone else needed to use the bay. They might argue you should’ve come back when ready to load/unload.
hiya…i got a ticket in B/ham once for unloading in the bay. they said how can you be unloading
the doors are closed. i said i keep closing the doors because B…ds keep nicking goods while i’am
walking into the shop…didn’t do any good i still was forced to pay. in this case drive how did you know
someone else didn’t want to deliver while you was parked, 6 hours is a bit of a long time to take up
the place…secondly if the warden was tall enough to reach the wipers without a ladder i wouldn’t
have fallen out with him, i’d have just taken the ticket…LOL
