I was suppose to go see a guy called Angus at gold star at the start of the year.
Glad I never wasted fuel and a trip.
£6 a hour on a 65 hour week is a joke.
Time n half after 65 hours should be after 40 with that ■■■■■ basic rate.
Does material if it’s containers or curtains or flats.

this is a typical container deal the jobs all long days but fairly chilled you will be away all week and get a decent take home with fuel bonus nights out O/T etc etc
This ^^
Except, I believe my mate is struggling for nights out tbh, he stays in the yard rather than driving home because he lives quite far from the yard.
But, as I say, 6.90 * 40 + 10.35 * 22.5 = 508 basic top line, which however you dress it up, isn’t that bad for a 62.5hr week really (remember, most places that pay higher rates deduct a meal break off you - this is paid straight through) + fuel bonus (easily achievable due to the type of work) + any other O/T (if he works more than his 12.5hrs per day he’s paid for the extra, even if he only did 8hrs the day before) etc…
I’m sorry. One shouldn’t laugh at those poor wretched souls.
I don’t know how I would survive on those terms. Last week I worked less than 42 hours.
But still get my salaried £550 a week. (And that does not include night out money… I like to think of that £5000 tax free bonus as a bonus, not something to make my wages look beter. You may have sussed I don’t work for stobrats )

No, it is bad. I take home more than that for less hours, and I work in Hull!
£6.90 p/h makes me feel physically sick… Considering what our responsibilitys are…Also if the company’s who pay this beggers rate kept the profit margins, OK but they don’t… They knock the rate that they do the job for sending us all into poverty…
Floged me to death when i was a subbie for them plenty of shouting and bawling if ever late even if held up in accidents wouldnt go anywhere near them ever again hence the big influx of foreign drivers horrible company
Job being posted by job centre plus…£7.20p an hour 30 P more than Goldstar…Dressing up as an Hamburger standing on the R/about at lakeside… It the same P /Take

When did I post that? A good while back. And, if you read my post, you’d see even if he did 42hrs back then, he’d still get £508. Ok, not as good as your £550, but yours is a salary no? So doing more gets you ■■■■ all extra?

Again, read above, I can’t remember when that was posted, but it wasn’t today.
I also never said it was GOOD, only that - at the time - it wasn’t terrible for what he was doing (containers) etc.
As I said, most firms dock 45 mins - 1hr off you, so if you do 10hrs and only get 9hrs, but you’re on £10 / hr, you’ve earned 90 quid, so really only on £9… Then if they pay straight through instead of overtime etc…
I’m not defending them and am nothing to do with the company, but my post is the one being quoted, so I’ll respond.
