Perhaps a stupid question but are these waterproof/resistant? eg. are they gonna be okay for open/closing curtains/buckles in the wet or when it’s raining or will they get soggy all the way through?

If you’ve got wet curtains, straps and buckles, yes, these gloves do get wet, but in my experience they never get sodden unless it is torrential rain you’re working in.
I use a pair of these gloves everyday for all work on the outside of the truck and a pair last about three months. I always carry a spare pair with me, and if they do get wet, I dry them either on the truck heater or on a radiator when I get home. Depend how sensitive you are to wet gloves/hands. They don’t slip when wet.
Never, ever buy rigger gloves from Tesco at £1 a pair. I have got five pairs and for some reason they stink to high heaven. Made in Feeking China, made from god knows what.
Arco sell rigger gloves at £26 for 12 pairs - which is very cheap - they last about 6-10 weeks - doing P&O work - so pretty good for the price - they are well made and thick leather palms - not good in the wet though as they are not water proof lol
cheers
