Anyone know where I can get a decent pair of leather gloves, not ones that let the dirt & [zb] through after a week.

Perhaps a stupid question but are these waterproof/resistant? eg. are they gonna be okay for open/closing curtains/buckles in the wet or when it’s raining or will they get soggy all the way through?

If you’ve got wet curtains, straps and buckles, yes, these gloves do get wet, but in my experience they never get sodden unless it is torrential rain you’re working in.

I use a pair of these gloves everyday for all work on the outside of the truck and a pair last about three months. I always carry a spare pair with me, and if they do get wet, I dry them either on the truck heater or on a radiator when I get home. Depend how sensitive you are to wet gloves/hands. They don’t slip when wet.

Whilst this suit is very comfortable for driving in I tend to find children in passing cars tend to point and scream :open_mouth:

Sorry mate, I thought that was a pair! I should read it properly!

Never, ever buy rigger gloves from Tesco at £1 a pair. I have got five pairs and for some reason they stink to high heaven. Made in Feeking China, made from god knows what.

These are good, as far as I know you can only buy them in bulk but I could be wrong. Might get them by the pair on ebay?

How about these!

Arco sell rigger gloves at £26 for 12 pairs - which is very cheap - they last about 6-10 weeks - doing P&O work - so pretty good for the price - they are well made and thick leather palms - not good in the wet though as they are not water proof lol
cheers

these are pretty good, normally last me 3-4 weeks.

Simple, just carry three pairs, one pair PVC or rubber gloves for fuel and oil and washing down.

2 pair of leather ones, use one pair on coupling up, crappy jobs, or when it is raining.

The other pair will last for ages if you only use them to open doors, strap pallets or push a pallet truck around.
